Scor. and Androc.

Post by Feras Hakkak »

Hello,

In "Perfect materia medica of mind" edited by Sehgal
brothers, the rubrics of Barthel repertory are
collected under the remedies. There we find Scorpio
europaeus with many rubrics. On the other hand we find
the same rubrics (even the exclusive ones) for
Androctonus in the synthesis. Also, in the list of
remedies introduced in the appendix of Synthesis,
these two remedies are mentioned as different ones.
Now, would you please help me to solve this paradox!?

Sincerely,
Feras Hakkak

For what it's worth, Vermuelen discusses the species androctonus amoureuxii
helbraeu specically, and has no entry for "scorpio europaeus." On the other
hand, Murphy, under his listing "Scorpion" lists the two together, as if
they constituted the same remedy. Vermuelen does comment that there are
over 600 species of scorpion, closely resembling each other except for minor
details of coloration or morphology.

Phatak has neither.

I suspect some of the confusion arises from Jeremy Sherr's proving of
Androctonus, bringing the remedy to the fore of modern homeopathic
consciousness.

Interesting question!

Rosemary
