Boron

Post by Jean Doherty »

I am in May giving a talk to the Arthritic foundation on Homoeopathy. I
have had limited success to date with severe Rheumatoid. Most are on huge
doses of suppressant drugs and love their Rheumatologist..
I will talk about the healing of emotional states by Homoeopathy, the
importance of the modalities in choosing a remedy that may ease discomfort
and promote more enjoyment of life.
Does anyone know about Boron? A friend sent me the following,

³One should also think about Boron supplementation.
In areas of the world where Boron intakes usually are 1,0mg or less/day the
estimated incidence of arthritis ranges 20-70%, whereas in area where boron
intake is 3-10mg, incidence of arthritis is0-10%. Boron supplementation of
6mg/day produced a favourable response in 50% of osteoarthritis patients as
against 10% on placebo. I see a reference to it also being useful in RA, but
I don't know how reliable that is. Apples pears and tomatoes are higher
sources of Boron.²
Thank you all for contributing to such an interesting group, Jean
