Hi All,
I'm not used to nothing really happening when I give a remedy and this is what has happened in this case, I therefore am hoping that someone will tell me where to turn next!!
I will send the case and my analysis of it from last month and will type up today's follow up where nothing has happened or it has possibly become worse and send later/
Background- This 46 yr old man presented as a nervous, thin , wiry man with a shock of blond hair. He has worked in the same school for 15 years rising to deputy head and then headteacher .He was dressed in a tee shirt and light blue jeans which were not fashionable and spoke in what I would call a rapid nervous manner..
Presenting Complaints - eczema and chronic IBS. He also has diabetic tendencies and has been told he is on the borderline.
In 1996 he was acting deputy head and went to the toilet and passed a lot of blood. He has had all the tests and been told he has IBS and will have to live with it!
"When I have got to go I have got to go". This is the worst thing for him. A lot of the time he gets mucous - clear, instead of stool. "As soon as I eat I have to go. It is < breakfast and

I got the same thoughts you had as well.
First, Tub of course, childhood -> Carc -- maybe ...
Tub-miasm for sure.
Baryta - I don't think - too much tension and too much intelligence and
energy (extreme sports)
Rhus. Tox. came into my mind as well, but you said it didn't work -
seems plausible - Rhus tox has a rather melancholic streak - thought of
suicide although fearing death.
My idea is to think about agaricus muscarius, a remedy closely rtelated
to the Tub-miasm, as can be read in Kent's Lectures on MM:
"I remember starting out to prove Tuberculinum on an individual I
suspected would be sensitive to it from his history and symptoms. The
first dose almost killed him, and, considering the use that that
substance is put to in diagnosing the disease in cattle, it seemed to
stir him up.
He became emaciated and looked as if he would die. I let it alone and
watched and waited patiently and the symptoms of Agaricus came up and
established the relationship between these two remedies, and confirmed
Hering's observation of the relationship of Agaricus to the tubercular
diathesis. Agaricus cured him and fattened him up."
According to Reichenbach-Ullman & Ullman, Ritalin Free Kids, p 137-141,
Agar is restless, nervous, difficult (ADHD diagnosed today) as a child,
the most marking features however is that Agar dreams of fighting, of
battles, he might even enjoy dreaming about it, no wonder that the
chapter is called "Dream Warrior"
"I was naughty and used to smash things up," says the patient. Oten you
find rage and anger in agar., but often controlled in adults. One has to
take into account that Agaricus muscarius, was the inebriating substance
the Beserkers used to go berserk for fighting fiercely.
The fighting mentality, I see in those extreme sports, the challenge of
the sea as well as the mountains, "thrill seeker"
"He exhibited a ceaseless yearning for the experiences of life... They
need to have high levels of challenge in their waking hours and
sometimes eve during their dreams." (Reichenbach-Ullman & Ullman)
Agar has complaints occurring diagonally in the body. It is a remedy of
this and that, of contradicting features, some kind of chameleon amidst
the MM, loquacity versus dullness, a fighting spirit versus shyness,
nervousness versus sluggishness, sensitiveness versus psychological
paralysis, manic versus depressive, sexual debauch as well as sexual
prostration after masturbation especially.
Contradictions: "I'm shy but I'm not," says the patient.
Cross, self-willed, stubborn. (Hering)
Loquacity (Hering)
"At times the patient is stupid, awkward and clumsy, at other times
quick and poetical, can run off poetry without effort, especially at
night," thus states Kent.
Agar is cold, in the night as well, in the kitchen always near the fire
(Kent)
Stool thin, yellow, fecal, slimy.
Stool mushy, most after breakfast, oftener than usual.
Looseness commencing in morning, immediately after rising, returning
after each meal with much rumbling, passing wind and spasmodic bellyache
; crampy colic.
? Chronic diarrhœa. (Hering - blue rubric)
Buzzing in the ears. (Clarke)
Agaricus will cure the most inveterate chronic catarrhs with dryness and
crusts, in tubercular constitutions, so deep-seated is it. (Kent)
Dry and fluent coryza, with sneezing.
Frequent sneezing, even when there is no coryza, in morning in bed.
Copious discharge of thick tenacious mucus from nose.
Accumulation of dry mucus in nose, with sensation as if nose was
entirely filled with it.
Constant, copious and offensive discharge from nose, no one could inhale
his breath without disgust.
? Chronic nasal catarrh. (Hering - blue rubric)
I would suggest agaricus muscarius, but well, maybe you check, I would
be glad if the quotes and my thouoghts might have shed some light on
your case.

Dear Rochelle, very briefly as I have to rush to see a client but have you
considered GRAPHITES.
There is a lot of rejection in the case and thus he has developed some
controlling agents to counter this. His climbing exploits require
perfection, stability, calmness and patience - you cannot climb without
these qualities, but the rest of his diseased state is nervous and fearful
of rejection.
Graphites - lots of despair and restlessness but with slowness of purpose.
This makes them fastidious (the climbing). Fidgety. Much anxiety and
persistent thoughts, anxiety of conscience, about the future and self.
Averse to business (job is a millstone round his neck). Caustious and
conscientious. Timid and cowardly in relationships - averse to sex, lack of
sexual enjoyment, sexual debility. Liquid discharging eczema (his was in the
ears but it can be anywhere). Mucous stool - green or brown, often shreddy
but can be jelly like. Anal fissures (this might be where the blood is
coming from).
Ill effects of grief.
Sensation of things being torn to pieces - he is trying to put it all back
together and find the answers - that is his journey
They are >>> open air.
Chronic catarrh in the nose and spasmodic asthma.

diarrhea after breakfast, superstitious (del. under superhuman control),
poison ivy, TB, fear of robbers
Have you considered Agar? especially if any jerking, etc.

The daredevil nature yet fearful, prone to injury, punishment/reproach,
diarrhea after breakfast, superstitious (del. under superhuman control),
poison ivy, TB, fear of robbers
Have you considered Agar? especially if any jerking, etc.
