Hi Rochelle,

The way she expressed about her fear makes me think of fear of losing
control. Staph is one of the remedies listed, which might relate to the
circumstances relating to the birth(Caesarian?) of her child. Apart, from
that similarity, Staph quite possibly doesn't fit with the rest of the case.
I think Hennie mentioned this(birth) being linked to the time the fear
began - so makes you wonder what was it about the birth/pregnancy did she
lose control. Patient really doesn't want to be left in the situation where
she would be unable to look after herself if injured/disfigured etc.

Hi Rhonda,
It is the asthma that started after the birth of her first child not the fear of fire. I will have to enquire when that started!!! I have to say that Staph is really not represented in this case as I see it up to now. She hasn't phoned today as I asked her to, to let me know how the Kali Bi worked on her catarrh and it is too late for me to phone her tonight I will try to remember tomorrow.

I just want to run something past you guys to see nwhat comes up.

I have a young patient who I have been treating off and on for a number of years as things have emerged. I think I first met him when he was 4 and he is now 7. He has done well on Hyos, Verat and Stram over the years.

One thing has remained constant in his play and that is that he builds fences, enclosures and puts things, like toy animals inside. When I asked him a year back why he does this he answered that he makes the "prisons" or "cages" and puts the animals in to protect people from them. He has also been known to draw happy and sad people behind bars.

I am annoyed with myself that I didn't ask him when I saw him last week and he made an enclosure and put things in it as he might have been able to express himself better now. Mum brings him sometimes just for me to check he is OK !!

Dear Rochelle

The first thing that comes to my mind in this case (since Stram has been one
of the Rx that has offered good results) is that "living in a prison" or
"trapped" are core issues with this little man and these games are his means
of compensating for his state.

Herscu's book on Stramonium explores this idea well.

Hi Rochelle,

My own thought would be to use some rubrics re his sense of danger(?) -- he
says he *puts* animals there, to *protect* people (presumably including
himself?) from them. The remedies he's responded well to so far would also
seem to support the thought that he feels a sense of endangerment??? Maybe
ask him to spin a story about "what's out there", what might happen if
someone doesn't put the animals in cages? Or ask him to tell a story about
how teh animals feel in their cages, something like that?
