Re: heavy metal poisoning

Post by Dave Hartley »

Cilantro is tasty stuff, for sure - I love it.

Read up on heavy metal detox.

I have studied the situation, and read case histories of do-it-yourself
near-death-experiences. I have also had my own personal experience with
detox, and there were points there where I would've preferred a bit less
pain & suffering !

When we're talking about the difference between a relatively controlled
& smooth detox vs. potentially life threatening situation, I think it is
only reasonable to be cautious... and only foolish/uninformed to mock a
cautious approach.

You see the logic?

Hi Dave,

Do you have reason to think that 3 cups of cilantro tea can be that brutal,
or are you speaking more "generically", e.g. to the effect that if one has a
serious problem, then one should give serious thought to what's needed --
and safe for the weakened body -- by way of "cure"?

If so, I definitely agree with the principle, but can hardly imagine how 3
cups of cilantro tea could be dangerous...

Curious,
Shannon

You would assume wrong.

You might assume I'd some reason for posting as I did.

Cases of Mercury toxicity have been exacerbated by too-rapid toxin
"dumping"

The point is: be extremely cautious about self-treating heavy metal
toxicity.
-and watch those assumptions...

Will the cheapest method, although not beneficial to drug and nutritional
supplements companies, to detoxify your system, often used by the Mahatma
Gandhi, namely fasting by itself be good enough rather than taking recourse
to costly methods such as coffee enemas, Epsom salts (I don't know what it
is), Olive oil (very costly) etc. etc..?

What do you mean by "...infusion.."? The coriander according to you has to
be infused per rectum (like coffee enema) or taken in orally or intravenous
into blood?
And will coriander detoxify lead only or other metals too?
Ratan.

Infusion is like tea, but would imply a strong "medicinal" preparation

Cilantro / Coriander is probably most widely known today in relation to
do-it-yourself "oral chelation" in mercury toxicity..
*where it has been known to create severe problems* in some instances.

Do you know of anyone who would take 3 cups of tea, and then no more ?

I am just generically recommending becoming informed; also recomending
excercising caution (especially when UNinformed)

Well, if I were taking a tea that didn't taste all that good (it's good as a
veggie, but...) for medicinal purposes, then sure, I'd be happy to stop
after 3 cups.

My main question was perhaps answered by you in a post to someone else --
whether you are aware of problems *resulting from cilantro,* *used in this
sort of way*. You are (I think) suggesting that you have read such. If you
can give reference I'd be very interested, for curiosity's sake.

Sure I agree about exercising caution.
I also find (many years of personal experience) that "do-it-yourself health
care", casting aside the doctor's advice and trying to find a "better" way,
is an approach that (a) offers *wildly better* results than follow most
(esp. conventional) doctors' advice, and (b) does entail a certain amount of
"risk" (as, of course, does following your [esp. conventional] doctor's
advice!), and (c) should very definitely be done in a context of inquiry,
information seeking, weighing of possible risks vs. possible benefits. In
other words, yeah, if I'm treating a serious illness, I need to treat the
process respectfully. But at some point caution edges over into paranoia,
and I'm finding it a little hard to be afraid of cilantro tea. (Now if I
*drank* it and *felt* a strong reaction -- very possible! -- I would
certainly treat *that* with respect too, and possibly re-think my approach.)

However, if you (or anyone) offers an *actual reason* to be wary of
cilantro, I'm all ears! Uh, eyes...

You see, to my somewhat untutored mind, cilantro tea is right up there along
with brown rice in terms of both therapeutic value (very real!) and risk
(huh?)... But I am eager to learn more!

Cheers,
Shannon

Coriander is a carminative, stimulant and sedative and any overuse, even
therapeutical, can cause a fracture in a harmonious and balanced state.

Cilantro is just one variety of many.
