Genital Herpes

Post by Rochelle »

I had a 23 yr. old in today who has had Genital herpes for 2 years and has
basically been taking - and still is Aciclovir since then as it keeps
returning. She has no idea where she got it from as she didn't have a
partner at that time. She said that her Grandma has recently been diagnosed
with it and no one knows how. She has not shared a bed with her Grandma
which was my first suggestion. The patient has also recently caught and had
treated with a/b Clamydia caught from a partner. She also has many dark
moles and has had some removed which have proved to be malignant. I have
prescribed Thuja 200 split as it fit the case.

Does anyone reckon Genital herpes is actually curable by homeopathy as she
has been told that it will always be in her body?

Dear Rochelle,

I reckon that genital herpes can be "cured" insofar as symptoms are
concerned, although the virus most likely will remain dormant in the body
somewhere.

Along those lines, and since she also had malignant moles (which tend to
become melanomas), I read a very interesting article this morning about two
people receiving donated kidneys from a donor who had been successfully
treated for melanomas 18 years previously -- no symptoms, no recurrences.
Both recipients got melanoma from the organs they received, and the organs
had to be taken out again. The recipients, of course, were
immunosuppressed -- a really striking example of disease and susceptibility.
Of course the allopathic treatment was suppressive, and possibly homeopathic
treatment might have eradicated this possibility. I don't think there's any
way to prove it empirically.

For what it's worth...

Rosemary

Wow Rosemary - that was fascinated and so predictable for us as homeopaths.

Thanks Eleana (Nice name - my daughter is Elana!!) - Silica she is not!!
Carc and Med both crossed my mind especially Carc. however because of the
way she felt about the Genital herpes it was Thuja which fitted best. It
is - like Med - a very sexual remedy according to Bailey.

Hi, Rochelle --

No genital herpes cases thus far, but I've had a lot of success treating genital warts, another virally-induced problem (HPV), with only two recurrences (when under extreme stress). Both quickly resolved with a repetition of the remedy.

Peace,
Cinnabar

I caught about 25yrs ago, this in the usual manner, and was EXTREMELY
ill for a few days, fever, general (& genital) malaise.

Never had another outbreak-- except for a very small, very mild, and
very short-lived one- which was perfectly in character with a
homeopathic cure, as may, I suspect, have been the case.

That was around 4 or 5yrs ago.

If our Art is practiced to it's full extent, syphilis is curable, and
I'm sure herpes as well, and probably HEP-C, and so on.

Dave,

Who do you think is superficially treating herpes here - certainly not
myself, and not Rochelle by her commenting that her choice of remedy suited
the entire case - other people perhaps, or were you just wanting to state
the obvious? My cases are chronic, as stated, and not superficially treated.
I still choose to NOT make the claim with genital herpes that it is "cured",
meaning(to me at least) a permanent state. Just my humble opinion, intended
to be helpful....

Regards, Rhonda

I had contracted genital herpes about 35 yrs ago. At that time no one paid
much
mind to it. I dont recall ever discussing it with anyone. I do remember
using Vit C
and golden seal root powder (in a paste form which i made up) topically to
soothe
and dry the out breaks. They always seemed to erupt when my stress level
was up
around my menses. For me, lack of sleep was always the clincher stress
factor
with any kind of dis-ease that would develop. The eruptions were never
debilitating--just very itchy and annoying.

Over the years of using homeopathy the eruptions have virtually ceased. The
last
time I had an eruption is was very short-lived (about 3 days) and seemed
more of an
aggravation than a real outbreak.

Can I say the condition is permanently cured? No--my life will tell. But
have I gotten
abatement and relief--absolutely. I never treated the herpes; barely even
remember to
factor it in, and often dont. So, I would say that constitutional work is
beneficial. I also
reported on this list a case of facial herpes that I treated about a year
ago which seemed
very successful. I was in touch with this man for about 10 months after
treatment and
he had not a single outbreak (this was a person who broke out every time he
was in the
sun, and he worked outdoors all year round).

So, I hope this is helpful
