Spleen discussion

Post by Jeff Sutherland »

I found the Burnett excerpt (link below) on the spleen patient fascinating and I think it illustrates one of the principles that Robin Murphy emphasizes with his students.

The most important finding in the case is the etiology of the disease if you can determine it. The next most important may be the organ system affected.

This gives you the set of remedies to work with.

Then you ask questions about symptomology that allow you to differentiate between remedies.

He has done some bakeoffs with people using MacReperatory or other approaches to identifying remedies from symptomology and usually won. Of course that might be simply because of his skill as a clinical.

I try to use his approach and find it most effective. When I am stumped, I crank up MacReperatory and usually find something that works.
