Re: advice please
Thanks so much for that – I would have started with a 30. I will have to see if Mez fits . I have used it with success before. How long is it since your patient actually had the shingles?

Hello
I just worked with a woman who had shingles. She also is on a host of medications, including 3 for the shingles. I asked her if they helped any and she said "no" but she was talking them anyway.
Mezerium was the best fit for her pain and it did work dramatically, in a 200c. She didn't know anything about homeopathy, just desperate to try anything. By the next day she was amazed, that there was still no pain. I talked to her after a week, she has stopped taking drugs to sleep, and has stopped the other shingles medications, as they are not needed. Her comment was "it's as if I didn't have shingles".
I love the idea that if the remedy fits nicely, it will work in spite of the allopathic medications.
Elise
Yes I think I will have to change Rx often. I don’t use LM’s because I have never had success with patient compliance but I do give water potencies . An added problem is that I will be away in a fortnight for a fortnight so will have to be careful just how I give the remedies. It is the shingles neuralgia she is coming about so am hoping to find a Rx within this rubric
Clinical; HERPES; zoster, shingles; neuralgic, pains, persisting, after herpes zoster (7) ars, dol, mez, ran-b, rhus-t, still, zinc-m,
I am just wondering if anything will get through the cocktail of prescription drugs she is on. I will look up the specific ones she is on for this specific problem and if they are not helping at all I will see if they are ones she can withdraw without any problems.

Hi Rochelle,
I think after careful case taking, and knowing the drugs side effects also being able to talk to family members to get an idea of the px picture before allopathic drugs
using LMs and alternating remedies as the picture changes will get the job done

I have a new patient coming in on Monday. Lady age 75 with multiple things wrong with her, taking multiple drugs but what she wants sorting is the neuralgia after shingles which she got about 7 months ago for which she is also taking drugs including a morphine based one when bad at night. Does anyone think our remedies will get through this drug haze as I wouldn’t expect her to stop taking them. I will also be teaching her EFT.
Thanks

Re: advice please
Hi rochelle
Tautopathics can help too for detoxing and getting thru the "haze" and open a door to receptibilty of your remedy.
By my way of thinking, since she's only asking you to treat 1 problem and since all her other medications are "treating" all her other problems, then look more to the pathological, clinical remedy, lower potency.
comment about ran-b - I found to be very excellent, but more so when there are respiratory sx also in the overall picture, (not necessarily directly related)
comment about rhus-t - also excellent on clinical side, esp where the overall picture includes "rhus type" things like fever, joint pains.

Re: advice please
Thanks Didi, I have used both those remedies on occasions. Have just looked up the medication she is on . 1) Prebagalin says that it takes weeks to kick in, must not be withdrawn suddenly and shouldn’t be mixed with opiate 2) Oromorph is an opiate !!!! It’s a morphine. No wonder she feels listless, tired and doesn’t want to do anything with the pain!!!

My oh my! what'll they think up next. Don't doctors read their own liturature?
so there you have it. throw a few opium30's her way to neutralize all that.
But you can make up a tautopathic, right?
-- take the allopathic pill in question and dissolve in a spoonful of water. give it a couple of shakes. (=1x or "mother tincture")
-- let the heavy stuff settle to the bottom then decant some drops of the liquid into a glass (or bottle or vials if you have them). Add about 3-5 ml of water (a teaspoon). Shake say about 10-15 times. (="2c")
-- following Korsokovian method (=sufficient remedy sticks to the side of the vial) dump that out and refill with another spoon of water. continue up to at least 6c, but 12c is better in my experience.
- you can give the finished 12c vial or dropper to the patient. since this is for short-term use, no alcohol should be necessary.
-- 3-5 days of dosing (3-10 doses altogether) is usually enough to neutralize the side-effects of long term drugs.

Re: advice please
I gave her Ars 200 – one dose. She is a very lively 75 yr. old. Right sided pain, chilly, anxiety , restlessness, fastidious, claustrophobia in narrow places and crowds, hard pressure amel , wakes after midnight, light touch very painful. I felt Ars was the best fittum. 10 mins after the Rx the pain suddenly got worse. We got the pain down with EFT back to the usual state but couldn’t touch it with EFT on its own.
I live in hope!! She has cut down on the medication from 3 a day to one a day because it made her so clumsy. She didn’t feel it was doing much for the pain either. She only takes and morphine liquid very occasionally. She also takes hypertensives, statins, anti-acids.

Re: advice please
This was providential, Didi. A patient called me this morning after realizing that the Xanax she was taking for panic attacks was actually causing the attacks. A tautopathic preparation may help wean her off the Xanax without requiring the use of other drugs. Many thanks!

Homoeopathy suaully works - ispite of drugs. The medicines I have
found most useful in post herpetic neuralgia include Phos, Mezerium,
Ran-b, Carbn -oxy.
I know others who have cured the condition with remedies such as Sepia
and Calc-p.
It usually does not go away with constitutional remedy.
