Dear Joy,
Well... the reason tissue salts are not proved (assuming we are talking
about the proper Schussler tissue salts in potencies of generally no higher
than 6x), is that they are not homeopathic remedies, but mineral
supplements. They do not work at the dynamic level, but at a gentle material
level. They cannot cause a proving or aggravation under any circumstances,
and this is why they can be used indefinitely.

As for the dolphin, until we have a clear idea exactly what this dolphin
remedy does - which we won't get from new-age so-called provings - then I
think we can safely say we will not get a client who "needs dolphin".

It seems silly to try to place blame on bickering homeopaths when the massive
Rockefeller fortune was -in a very determined, planned, organized, and
politically connected fashion -- making *sure* that their monopolistic
interest in pharmaceutical medicine would yield the $millions which are now
$billions.

Dear Rochelle,
I have a patient to whom I gave a placebo remedy and they never returned as
they phoned me to say how well they were after it.

i have seen unfunded community groups tackle major corporations and keep them out when people got
their act together and worked coherently. i live in a community where we have kept out Marriot and
Walmart. Both of those giants spending millions against a volunteer community that raised court
costs with yard sales and nickle and dime contributions. you cant overlook the self-victimization that
contributed mightily to the history of homeopathy. its an old history that repeats itself in many locations
over many issues. too bad people dont really learn the entire history and draw lessons from it. i sure
hope we do now!

i have participated in 2 workshop provings. one with a proven remedy and one with a new remedy.
what was interesting was the wealth of responses. in the workshop using a proven remedy the
sx reported matched closely the actual proving. the other remedy--well who knows. altho, i would
not base a prescription on either of these experiences, they clearly demonstrated the process and
responses in provings and gave all of us a first hand sense of it.

so i agree with others that these are not complete provings, but such experiences open the door
to ideas and reflections that are valuable for further exploration

Wow, "the power of positive thinking"!
Why did you give placebo, and how long do you suppose it held?

Dear Shannon,

you wrote>>

To that I would say simply that the Homeopath needs to know how to focus on
what needs to be cured. And why choose to treat a variety of different
aspects of the whole - just stick with the whole. As I said, keep it simple,
this is part of being an unprejudiced observer.
you also wrote...

I would ask what you mean by a 'local picture?'
you also wrote>>

I would say that I don't really thinks there is anything wrong in using the
word 'constitution' in this context but we might be able to borrow something
from genetics. It is when we refer to the 'constitutional remedy' when
things start getting confusing.
Then you wrote

I would say that you treat the uppermost emergency first (whichever remedy
that turns out to be) - whichever is life threatening, then you carry on
with the case if necessary. You have to develop you own methodologies but
you ALWAYS HAVE TO TAKE THE CASE AND PRESCRIBE THE SIMILLIMUM. You can only
prescribe the indicated remedy.
also you write>>

Again, I say much is what we inherit genetically from many generations, this
then determines how we react to what life throws at us.
finally...>>

But that is what good case taking is all about, the totality, knowing what
needs to be cured, grading the symptoms, being unprejudiced, looking at each
case individually, etc. Some case might have lots of levels which run
everything at any given time, some cases only one level. On a practical
level you go as far as the client wants to go and there is no need to
complicate it beyond that.

Best wishes, Joy

Interesting that you will accept the use of placebo as a 'remedy' but not a
dream proving!

Oh, yes!
But at the same time, we shouldn't be giving them any handouts...
