C4 - potencies

There is some information on C4s availeable in German, so I will try to
translate some of it. I just want to stress that I know it only in theory,
not in practice.

This method is based on the so-called "resonant trituration". (= done with
inner participation)
This means that the essence of the remedy unfolds:
In C1 the physical-organic essence,
in C2 emotional power,
in C3 mental power
and in C4 its spiritual power.

Witold Ehrler discovered this phenomenon : "I experienced it as a process
that involved me, the triturator, deeply in the remedy, the borders
between me and the remedy beginning to dissolve." He experienced physical,
then emotional sensations, then imaginative pictures in a meditative
condition.
For example the trituration of Nat mur started with the material
salt-deposits of the earth and in life in C1, followed by many sequences
concerning the theme "salt" and ending in the C4 with religious themes
concerning "You are the salt of the earth".
It seems that about 2/3 of the triturators are able to experience this kind
of phenomenon.
Ehrler himself has the special gift of "hearing" texts during the
trituration telling about the aspects of the remedy. The are available
printed in German only as far as I know.

The trituration thus works as a special kind of proving, the experiences
during the
C1-trituration equal a low-potency-proving (e.g. C6)
C2- C30
C3- C200 or C1000
C4 shows something completely new: an athmosphere of solution of problems,
of healing, even holiness - not only with "spiritually interested"
triturators.

The trituration is done as described by Hahnemann: 1 C-step takes 1 hour.
It consist of 6 phases per 6 minutes of trituration (lactose added in 3
portions per C-step) , interrupted by 4minutes-phases of scraping the
milk-sugar off the mortar. Any sensation felt by the triturators is written
down.
It is often done in groups of some people. The "Samuel Hahnemann-Schule" in
Berlin does this kind of provings, also published some of them on internet
(by Olaf Posdzech, German only)

From C4 (with some remedies the C5) all other potencies are made (D,C,LM)
Patients describe them as having an additional quality of healing, and less
primal aggravation.
The mental resistance of patients against healing seems to be smaller.

Dear Irene,
Your translations of C4 material will be much appreciated. I have an additional question: with substances that are soluble, and so are not ordinarily triturated up to C3, are they triturated anyway in these first steps when making a C4 is intended?

In C4-homeopathy any substance has to be triturated, C1 as well as C2, C3 and C4.
In organon 6th edition §270 Hahnemann describes this way of trituration as BEST for developing the power of the remedy.
(So this is not for C4-remedies only.)

@jenny: Ooops, this WAS already the translation I was talking about (excerpt from several texts). But well, I could translate the text of one proving to give a clearer example of what C4 means. Will take some days till I find time.
