Horizon Program on BBC 2

Post by Rochelle »

I reckon it all went wrong with the human error in coding and uncoding the
vial. What do you reckon??
Other than that it supported homeopathy.

Hi Simone,

Oh I missed that bit!! You mean that the cells that they took were not the
cells taken from the same source as Madeleine E? (what was her name?) used.
In that case no wonder it didn't work!!

Dear Shannon
He didn't say what he gave but only that he gave the same Rx to , I think it
was 25 horses with Cushings and got 80% success which was as good as
allopathic medication! Simone may have more to add.

There was nothing wrong with the experiment. They
just forgot one of the principles they mentioned
earlier in the programme.

They forgot to find out what the symptoms were of the
creature from whom the blood (histamine) sample was
taken and match the remedy accordingly.

The took a substance that they, as scientists, thought
would have an effect. They neglected to look at
provings, study the symptoms and then apply.

Many a remedy has little or no effect on a patient, if
it is completely the wrong remedy.

The experiment was not homoeopathic, because it
ignored a fundamental principle - let like be cured by
like!

That "homoeopathic water" as they called may as well
have been ordinary water, as far as I am concerned. I
also believe that they did not disprove the "memory of
water" for the very same reasons.

My favourite part was the discussion on placebo, when
Mark Elliott discussed his work with Cushings in
horses and his success rate!

Cheers,
Simone

They didn't state where they took the histamine from,
nor why they chose they substance to dilute that they
did. Certainly, no-one qualified in homoeopathy chose
the "remedy" for the solution.

We all know about susceptability. Many a time I have
had a remedy with no effect whatsoever. Because it
was the wrong remedy.

BTW, it was Madeleine Ennis.

Cheers,
Simone
