Friends
My wife suffered from tic fever about 9 years ago. She had it
quite bad and could not use any medication as she was
breast feeding our youngest.
Now, after al these years, it re-occurs anually.
She is lying in bed today, feeling weak, body aches, slight
headache and grumpy. Very much the symptoms of flu, but
without the running nose or coughing. She started to feel
grotty yesterday and also found it difficult to fall asleep last
night.
Is these any way to get the bug out of her system! Or let me
put it this way: Is there life after tic fever?
Yours.
Anton.

Greetings, Anton,
Life after Tick fever is possible if a remedy is found which matches her suscptibility. If the recurrence is in fact precisely annual, then that is a useful homeopathic symptom, as you probably know. Here are the remedies which have annual periodicity:
periodicity in the same sentence as annual: Agki-p., Ail., Am-c., Ant-t., Aran., 2Ars., Buth-aust., Carb-v., 3Carc., Cench., Crot-h., Echi., Elaps, Gels., Hydro-c., 2Hydrog., Kali-bi., Lach., Lyc., Naja, Nat-m., Nicc., Psor., Rhus-t., Rhus-v., 2Sabad., Sulph., 3Tarent., Tarent-c., Thuj., Tub., Urt-u., 2Vip.
If the periodicity is exactly annual, then the remedy may likely be in the above rubric. At least one or two other distinctive symptoms of her (hot or cold person in general, distinctive peculiar personality symptoms, etc) would be needed for you to differentiate further
We could try using the following:
If we then cross that rubric with the following two rubrics added together:
SKIN; STINGS of insects; general (K1331, G1098): acet-ac., acon., am-c., am-caust., am-m., androc., ant-c., anthr., apis, arn., ars., bamb-a., bell., bry., bufo, calad., camph., carb-ac., caust., cedr., coloc., crot-h., echi., grin., gua., gymne., hippoz., hydr-ac., hyper., ip., kali-ma., kreos., lach., lat-m., Led., merc., mosch., nat-m., pulx., samb., seneg., sep., sil., sisy., spirae., staph., sul-ac., sulph., tab., tarent., til-c., Urt-u.
GENERALITIES; WOUNDS; bites (SRII-765): acet-ac., agav-a., all-s., alumn., am-c., am-caust., anag., anthr., apis, arist-cl., arn., ars., aur., bell., calad., camph., canth., caust., cean., cedr., chr-ac., cinnam., cist., crot-h., dor., echi., euph-po., euph-pr., grin., gua., guajol., gymn., gymne., helo., hep., hippoz., ho., hydr-ac., hyos., hyper., indg., iod., kali-ma., kali-p., lach., lat-h., led., lob-p., loxo-r., lycps., lyss., merc., mosch., nat-m., ph-ac., plan., plume., puls., pyrog., semp., seneg., sisy., slag, spirae., stram., stry., sul-ac., tanac., ter., thuj.,
urt-u., viol-o., vip., visc.
We get:Elimination: am-c., ars., crot-h., echi., lach., nat-m., sulph., Tarent., thuj., Urt-u., vip.
But more on the sx of the pt would be needed for you to narrow it down, even if one uses the bite as a sx.
This information would be useful mainly to a homeopath (yourself?) who takes her full case and evaluates the remedies that have the periodicity and match other aspects of the case until find the one that matches best, and then find confirmatory symptoms for that choice. There are plenty of homeopaths in S. Africa, if you are not one yourself.
Good Luck,
Andy

Andy,
You might check out Will Taylor's analysis of the Ericaceae family on the Whole Health Now website. (Sorry, don't have the link!). That family includes Ledum and Kalmia, two major remedies for Lyme disease. Which may (or may not) be similar to "tic fever" in South Africa. Wonder if there's a local African plant that would be indicated for "tic fever"? The Ericaceae are basically deer forage plants, and deer, as we know, are a vector of Lyme.
Peace,
Cinnabar
