I'm very much of an amateur at homeopathy, but I discovered something
interesting:
A few months ago, there was a big discussion on this list on using
homeopathy with plants. About that time, I repotted some 10-yr old ivy that
had become extremely potbound (the roots made rings around the insides of
the pots!). This ivy is a peculiarly hardy strain-- it's even gone up to 6
weeks without water and survived other tortures due to conditions outside my
control. Since repotting, the ivy have not fully enjoyed their new homes--
I'm assuming that their roots did not extend down deep enough to take
advantage of the water, fertilizer, etc., and for the first time they looked
like they were close to death. So, about a month ago, I was joint-achey and
using the last of a bottle of Hyland's Ruta grav 30, which gets a bit
powdery at the end. I dumped the rest of the Ruta grav powder in the
watering can and filled the watering can with water for the plants' next
watering.
I'm happy to report that, although they aren't showing any new growth, they
*are* looking much perkier and a bit greener. So, it seems that Ruta grav
was the right prep, and it's having the same degree of effect that it does
in the plants' owner-- a nice gentle remediation instead of a radical
temporary solution.
Anyone else trying homeopathy with their houseplants? Would love to hear--
I've been *really* excited.
Best,
Cherilyn
