Tourettes

Post by Medo Ross Draven »

Does anyone have any experience with Tourettes in adults and children?
I am having a hard time rep-ing this one, and/or if you have a group
of remedies that I can reference and cross reference this will help
me learn more of the acceptable tx. Thanks

No experience with treating this one and the disease is not named in any
repertory.

Two rubrics that might help:

Mind gestures tics nervous
Mind cursing

EH mentions Mang, zinc, Stram, Coff.

All the salts of manganum and zinc are listed, so it would seem that these
two minerals are pretty strong in treating this syndrome.

The key will be in the rubrics describing your patient's symptoms and
behaviors. Good luck!!

Dear Rosemary
Thanks for the help. These type of 'brain' disorders remind me of a
Traumatic Brain Injury I treated years ago. During the first 5 weeks
the pt revealed her privates, spoke harshly and swore all extremely
offensive as the frontal portion of the brain was damaged. As one
might imagine, Arnica 10m & up was indicated but not my point, as I
think an aquired brain dysfunction is not far away from a traumatic
brain injury and needs to repp-ed and treated in the stages of
healing or decline as per the symptoms. I am searching the med sites
for more neurological input as I have two child pts and one adult.
The adult is a recently diagnosed, and is on huge amounts of chemical
rx's. I have not at this time homeopathically interviewed him. The
children one female age 10 one male age 10. I am wondering if the
voice-neuro glitch would respond empirically to a common rx for all
three as in my practice, I find the parents are at the wits end and
don't allow a lot of time to treat, will medicate and thats that. I
am looking closely at majeptil. all of the pts carry many of the
modalities shown in the majeptil (thioproperazine) monograph.
Thanks

Look at Manganum remedies and Zinc remedies. Both showed up on a word search
for Scholten's Elements.

I have had a patient with Tourette's + ADD and I gave Hyos. as a
constitutional although I do realise it is the bog standard Rx for this
complaint. The patient was then taken to the free NHS clinic when his
appointment came up and guess what, he was also given Hyos.!!!!!

Hi. I had 2 male patients 9 years and 12 years of age this year who had Tourettes. Both responded beautifully. One case was about a 5 year duration and medical drugs had been tried to no avail. I went by their neurological symptoms---in both of these patients they had jerking of the head from behind forward. Interestingly, their Tourettes had begun after a course of antibiotics for a strep throat.
What symptoms is your patient exhibiting?

Dear Sharon,
Would it be possible to present your two cases of Tourettes in more detail
with justification of the given Rx.
Many thanks,
Fatima
