Prenatal Ultrasound-Not So Sound After All!!

Dear Colleagues
I have just come across this article stating that ultrasound is not a safe method.
“a single exposure to ultrasound produced cellular and DNA damage similar to 250 chest x rays—and damage was permanent and heritable for ten generations and beyond.”
“these children have a greater risk of radiation-induced genetic and/or brain damage that can lead to autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders.”

My daughter had ultrasound every week if I remember correctly with her first child (IVF) up until 3 months for reassurance because she would not believe she was pregnant at last . Her daughter is now 4 yrs old and a very bright spark. Has also been fully vaccinated (boo!!) and IMHO has had too many antibiotics and Calpol for my liking!! I don’t think the second child had as many but he is also a bright spark.
That’s all I know to the contrary.
As usual I would say it has all to do with susceptibility!!

I have the same ongoing argument with my daughter about all these medical things they do to themselves. It’s like talking to the wind. Yet they managed to pull through. I did the same when I was her age. I have all kinds of battle scars, and I think a little bit smarter, but as a mom you just have to keep believing that they’ll be OK.
