Re: wrenching rubric
Thank you Leilanae,
I was expecting it to be a sensation, which I imagine it can also be used for. For an injury I would have looked for injury ruybrics. The reason this rubric came to my attention was I was studying Bar-p for which I found very little.
Anyone have experiences with Bar-phos?

Re: wrenching rubric
Mangialavorie has an excellent case of bar-p. It’s in his book on insecurity. It’s about a highly functioning autistic professor of something like mathematics. She acts like the stereotypical Bar-c in that she is totally dependent on her husband. She mentally excels in one narrow area and in every other area such as sociability, taking care of herself, taking responsibility for others she cannot function at all. There was something Phosphorus-like in the case but I can’t remember the details.

Re: wrenching rubric
From Jain,
BARYTA PHOSPHORICA
Axis.
Approaching + Hypoactive + Non-aggressive.
Chilly + Thirsty + Left sided.
Affectionate.
From Sankaran’s Soul
The main feeling of Barium is that of a person who is totally dependent on others, almost like a cripple or an imbecile. In Phosphorus the feeling is of being unloved and uncared for, to which the patient reacts by being affectionate, friendly and sympathetic in the hope that this love and care will be reciprocated. So the main feeling of Baryta phophorica would be: "I am unloved and uncared for, or I am treated indifferently by the person I am totally dependent on (because of my incapacity to stand on my own feet)".
So we may see a person who is independent, friendly and sympathetic; or one who becomes very much dependent and anxious, more anxious than Baryta carbonica.
From Sankaran’s Substance
I have not used this remedy much. The main theme would be: "I am unloved /uncared for / treated indifferently by the person I am totally (because of my incapacity to stand on my own feet) dependent on". In the second stage, we will see an independent person who is also very friendly and sympathetic. In the third stage, the person would be more anxious even than Baryta carbonica.
From Scholten
Essence : the idea that they are insignificant and small in the area of learning or communication.
Mind : They feel very inferior in their contact with other people.
They let themselves be bullied, because they dont know how to answer back.
People just walk over them. This is their weak point. They cant bear it when people are hard and matter-of-fact with each other, instead of soft and gentle. They are very sympathetic themselves. They have a special soft spot for the 'black sheep', the underdog, the person who gets excluded bysociety.
They know very well themselves how it feels to be excluded. They may have experienced a similar situation with a friend or a brother who is physicallyor mentally handicapped. They feel the pain of their friend or brother when people laugh at them. Because of their sympathetic attitude, taking up the defence of the underdog, they will gather friends around them who are retarded or in one way or another excluded from society.
They often have learning difficulties themselves. They feel that they do everything wrong at school. They feel insecure and helpless and may ask the teacher for support with every little trifle. Or they may feel so stupid that they dont want to go to school at all.
General characteristics:
Location : right sided.
Temperature : cold, agg cold, agg damp.
Desires : sweet. Thirst (2).
Pressing pains. Weakness. Emaciation. Haemorrhages.
Dementia. Idiocy. Retarded development. Dwarfishness.
Swollen glands and cancer of the glands.
Tonsils swollen and inflamed.
Bronchitis.
Arteriosclerosis
(taken by Anton Kramer)
A woman, aged 47, comes with the complaint of urticaria.
She is a very warm and lively person. Her gestures, during talking, are graceful and sometimes rather helpless at the same time. Her face is full of expression, while her mouth moves rather nervously.
A little while ago she was very depressed. She had problems at school where she works as a teacher. She says in a tiny little voice 'I dont want to go to school anymore'. There was a conflict with the staff about a pupil who didnt do his work. At first the head of department supported her in this matter, but suddenly he changed his attitude and told her that she asked too much of this pupil. The reason behind this conflict was that the staff were afraid that they soon wouldnt have enough pupils left. She did not understand this attitude. Another colleague had told her to bang her fist on the table, but she couldnt do this, did not know how to. She doesnt understand whypeople are so hard and matter-of-fact with each other. She herself is verysympathetic. She likes having contact with people. She has to learn to shut herself off from the hard, outside world. She says: 'When they dont like me, it feels as if I dont exist anymore', and 'It looks as if I am a naive little idiot'. She has very little feeling of self worth. Sometimes she is even surprised if someone recognises her in the street, 'because I am reallynobody'.
She has joined a group for intuitive self-development and sacred dancing.
That is where she meets other people who are sensitive too.
Childhood: As a child she received little appreciation or compliments. Her mother was an extremely anxious woman. She has always given her mother a lot of help and support, but often felt 'Why do you give me nothing in return?'
She is still unmarried.
Temperature : cold (3).
Desires : fruit, cake, nuts, bread, yogurt. Thirsty (2).
Aversion : 'a slice of cow'.
There are quite a few reasons to prescribe Baryta: naive, 'being nobody', feeling inferior, cold. In addition we can also see some symptoms of Phosphorus: sympathetic, lively, intuitive self development, thirsty. Her whole being shows both elements to be present. It is not immediately clear why we should give the combination Bar-phos. We could just give Bar-c first, followed by Phos later on as a complementary remedy. Yet the indication for the combination Bar-p can be found in her great sensitivity to the way that people treat each other. She feels that people are too hard on each other, dont take feelings into account, in other words people disrespect each other, they think the other person is worth nothing.
After Bar-p 1 M an old problem of pains in the groin came back. After that she felt more quiet and relaxed. She became less strict with herself regarding the process of her cure. She has regained confidence in the possibility of cure. She also doesnt feel obliged to live according to the rules anymore. She allows herself to have fun and enjoyment. She did know that in theory already, but now she really feels it. The urticaria improved after a short time. After a while she had a dream of a self-possessed young woman of 17, who effortlessly solved all her problems by herself. She feels that she is moving towards the centre of her own life

Re: wrenching rubric
Very useful Rochelle. I have some of this but not all THANKS!!!
The woman I am thinking about has some subset of these characteristics. She has the dependency (on her brother), and allows others to walk over her until she blows. She hears his criticism in her head whenever she is problem solving. One difference is, she IS ABLE to blow and then is very ashamed of her behavior. She can be harsh and verbally critical, sarcastic.
Her goal in life right now is to do something to help the women in the woprld who are victims of trafficking.
She has had a stroke and the emaciation aspect is VERY interesting as that is what remains from the stroke [Apoplexy in which Bar-C and Phos are both represented]. Then there is this: GENERALITIES; WEAKNESS, enervation, exhaustion, prostration, infirmity; apoplexy, from (1) : 2bar-c.
She is very social as per how many and often she makes plans with her many friends, and yet sees herself as a loner(!) I find that to be an interesting dichotomy.
So happy for the responses I am getting and maybe should change the subject title...

From Jain,
BARYTA PHOSPHORICA
This is their weak point..
