Thalassemia Major
Hello everyone,
I was recently introduced to a beautiful, talented artist with Thalassemia Major. He is in his 30s, receives blood transfusions at least once each month and is on chelating agents. I would love to be able to introduce him to homeopathy, but I want to make sure that homeopathy can actually help with Thalassemia Major. I would not take this case as I am only a student, but would like to refer him to a great homeopath in his area (overseas). I wanted to ask you all if you've had any experience with this disease and if you have seen improvements with homeopathic treatment.
Thank you for your time.
Mona

Hi,
Take the case and I will send you the Questionnaire using the work of Dr. Heinner Frie with Polarity analysis. I have to talk with him by Skype or Hangouts. You can not change genetics, but you can change his reactions. It is very common among American Blacks. I had a friend who had it and he was perfectly healthy in jungle climates.
Have never treated it specifically. But have treated genetic conditions and homeopathy works.
I am in Japan. You can see my schedule on my website, tokyohomeopathy.com . Go to blog and look up schedule. He has to fit those times.
Best,
Ellen Madono

I agree with Ellen: you may not be able to change the genes, but you can greatly improve the quality of life.
This is an interesting case of treating sickle cell anemia:

The remedy used was Manganum aceticum.

Re: Thalassemia Major
Hi all,
Long time I've not written. How're ya'll doing?
During my years in Kenya/africa I have treated Thalassemia major (sickle cell) several times, with moderate success in alleviating symptoms. Not cure, but some great relief.
1) regularly (daily, weekly) boost the spleen & liver & immune system - i did that with a herbal/MT combo of ceanothus + china + iodine
2) syphilic miasm rx's according to the individual incl syphilinum 200 (single dose) followed by appropriate rx - eg merc. or other. in 30 or 200
3) immediately treat infections such as malaria with appropriate rx's such as china30 etc. Since the nature of malaria is that it destroys red blood cells, in particular it's to be prevented by all means, or rapidly treated. Regular doses of Malarix (abha light's product), or neem leaf or other (malaria nosode) will go a long way to prevent malaria.

Re: Thalassemia Major
People living in jungle climates don't get malaria if they have the Thalassemia genes I was told by my friend or read it? He was sent to Vietnam. When everyone else was getting malaria, he was in top shape. He goes to Florida and feels wonderful too. Terrible to live in Pittsburgh where he was born.

Re: Thalassemia Major
The way I learned it is that carriers — i.e. people with one sickle cell gene — are protected from malaria, yet pay no price for the protection. Apparently someone with a pair of the genes, and the sickle cell disease, also gets malaria protection, but pays a heavy price for it.

Yes, they are comfortable in the environment where the tradeoff between sickle cell anemia and malaria immunity is developed. In my friend's case, he had not just malaria immunity but also general well being in the hot humid climate where mosquitos flourish.

Re: Thalassemia Major
Perhaps I confused Sickle cell anemia and Thalassemia.
Sickle Cell patients definitely get malaria and other fevers and suffer it terribly.

Re: Thalassemia Major
Yes Did you are correct. From your reference: Those who have minor degrees of thalassemia, similar to those with sickle-cell trait , have some protection against malaria , explaining why they are more common in regions of the world where malaria exists.
Both diseases have a deformity of the red blood cell. The cause seems different. Confusing to me.
