PotUS change to negative images of remedies
Hi,
I can't get emotionally involved in this mess. Maybe not living in the US helps. I can't always manage to do it, but when I meet a difficult situation, I cultivate kindness, putting myself in the other person's shoes and gratitude. One incident at a time.
Way back there, through that morass of unkindness, Maria B said something about getting totally negative images about certain remedies. This is a problem that I often have. I have such a negative image of some remedies like Platina that I am unable to use it effectively. Clearly, this is poor homeopathy. What do you to get around this mind block?
I am always happy to come across cases that give a more balanced view of a remedy that are so totally negative that I could not see a relatively normal person taking the remedy. Does anyone know of a balanced write up on Platinum?
Blessings,
Ellen Madono

Last weekend at a seminar I saw an MS case that needed Platina. The patient was an open, gregarious, and loquacious woman, very successful and ambitious, with great confidence in her abilities. There were lots of expansive gestures — and enormous energy, especially given her diagnosis and her tendency to run herself into the ground. It was a peculiar combination of hyped up nerves + anemia + a character that obviously relished having the attention of the class. Plus her sex drive had increased since the diagnosis.

I always explain to a client our remedies go from one foot in the grave to healthy.
Our remedies speak of tendencies.
We can manifest those tendencies with the right stimulus.
I took a dose of nitric acid and had plenty to say. It triggered some thoughts and I let it all out. Not me usually, but it had to be an aspect of my personality somewhere. It just intensified some thoughts.
We are treating pathology. Without the pathology how can we return a patient to their ‘normal’ state?

Here is the cycle of Platina from Herscu
A) Weakness, coldness, emptiness leads to...
B) Aloneness, forsakenness, feeling abandoned leads to...
C) desiring other people, to get attention, wants the perfect person which leads to...
D) nerves getting sensitized which leads to...
E) haughtiness, being large, want stuff which leads to...
F) something happens, like a grief which leads to...
G) hysteria, lump in throat which leads back to.. A)
All of these segments cover mental, physical and emotional aspects

How about starting from square one instead biasing people toward certain remedies. That's how homeopathy should be done.

She had already been given platina with good results, or she was a live case who was prescribed platina at the class appearance?

The latter. It's too soon to judge the effect, but the prescription certainly made sense. Obviously there was a lot more to the case than this, but I'm not at liberty to go into the details.

Re: PotUS change to negative images of remedies
I have had a look at Platina and other "nasty" remedies as I remembered some bizarre prescriptions of mine, where I wondered how I got to those remedies through repertorisation, found a few confirmatory sentences in the MM and they worked beautifully.
My approach nowadays is that any (?) remedy can present both aspects, both polarities as related to a specific symptom, sign or behaviour. Take Nat Mur: first reaction when asked about it is "desires salt", but look at the repertories for "aversion to salt", it is there big time....same for many if not most rubrics with of course some trends more towards one polarity than the other.
So...Platina could certainly be a very nice Core remedy/personality who becomes nasty and ugly when imbalanced, ill, pushed out of his zone of comfort, attacked, bullied, etc,....
One confusion that exists is the lack of good differentiation between the Core (formerly Constitution) of a person and the symptomatic expression that needs treatment: I am not going to "treat" my healthy Calc carb neighbour, but I will give it to him if he starts presenting symptoms showing a Calc carb imbalance. I remember a middle aged lady whom I treated with acupuncture (before my homeopathic days) who in retrospect presented many of the brilliant aspects and intelligence of Platina, where the only exaggerated one was being over-flirtatious and sexual, boasting to anyone who wanted to listen about her sexploits....and she was a good teller...at one time she came for pain relief of a broken toe, which I had to set in place and tape; asking what happened, she told me, with pride, about her wild evening in the back of a car...
