Re: Homeopathic Merc for Dental Detox?
Similia similibus curentur is usually translated as “Let likes be cured by likes” because it is less of a tongue-twister than to say, “Let similars be cured by similars”
Unfortunately, as the use of the English language has evolved, we’ve come to use “like” to mean “exact copy”
“This pencil looks like mine” or “He looks just like his father”
In your example, using a homeopathic preparation of Mercury would be an “exact copy” of the mercury in your body, not the appropriate remedy, the simillimum needed to counter the symptoms of the mercury toxicity in your body.

Indeed – it is called ISOPATHY! Pls see the Organon:
Rgds
Soroush
§ 56 Sixth Edition
By means of this palliative (antipathic, enantiopathic) method, introduced according to Galen’s teaching "Contraria contrariis" for seventeen centuries, the physicians hitherto could hope to win confidence while they deluded with almost instantaneous amelioration. But how fundamentally unhelpful and hurtful this method of treatment is (in diseases not running a rapid course) we shall see in what follows. It is certainly the only one of the modes of treatment adopted by the allopaths that had any manifest relation to a portion of the sufferings caused by the natural disease; but what kind of relation? Of a truth the very one (the exact contrary of the right one) that ought carefully to be avoided if we would not delude and make a mockery of the patient affected with a chronic diseasefn.
fn A third mode of employing medicines in diseases has been attempted to be created by means of Isopathy, as it is called - that is to say, a method of curing a given disease by the same contagious principle that produces it. But even granting this could be done, yet, after all, seeing that the virus is given to the patient highly potentized, and consequently, in an altered condition, the cure is effected only by opposing a simillimum to a simillimum.
To attempt to cure by means of the very same morbific potency (per Idem) contradicts all normal human understanding and hence all experience. Those who first brought Isopathy to notice, probably thought of the benefit which mankind received from cowpox vaccination by which the vaccinated individual is protected against future cowpox infection and as it were cured in advance. But both, cowpox and smallpox are only similar, in no way the same disease. In many respects they differ, namely in the more rapid course and mildness of cowpox and especially in this, that is never contagious to man by more nearness. Universal vaccination put an end to all epidemics of that deadly fearful smallpox to such an extent that the present generation does no longer possess a clear conception of the former frightful smallpox plague.
Moreover, in this way, undoubtedly, certain diseases peculiar to animals may give us remedies and thus happily enlarge our stock of homœopathic remedies.
But to use a human morbific matter (a Psorin taken from the itch in man) as a remedy for the same itch or for evils arisen therefrom is ---- ?
Nothing can result from this but trouble and aggravation of the disease.

Re: Homeopathic Merc for Dental Detox?
You are most welcome, Deb. And I am happy to see such a discussion happening for this subject.
This is very unfortunate that the dentist you are using is not as experienced with the effective removal of mercury - and all that necessarily goes therewith.
My practise is in the Dallas area - and in a part of Dallas that has a growing reputation of being a solid whole health area. And this, quite fortunately for me, is also where this biologic dentist has her practise. She has patients see her from all over the country. If you'd like her name and contact information, I'll be happy to share it with you privately - or here, if there is enough interest from others.
I wish you the best with all of this, Deb.

Re: Homeopathic Merc for Dental Detox?
Well, curing with “similar” rather than “exact”…
That being said:
(a) the “exact” is not exact — once it has been potentized and turned into a remedy; and
(b) I have gathered that clinically, sometimes a dose or so of the “exact” (which of course is really just a closer similar) is needed along the way.
For e.g.:
- From what I read, in the course of homeopathic cure of vaccine (or other drug or chemical) reactions, the potentized vaccine-or-etc (idem; “same”—but not really, because it is changed in both form and dose) is very commonly needed as *part* of the recovery.
I think that as always, the key is to follow the symptoms, even if it seems to lead to idem; and that the bigger point is simply not to go there in a knee-jerk way. (When we don’t *know* the symptom picture of the substance, circumstantial evidence might be needed.)

Re: Homeopathic Merc for Dental Detox?
Just a thought on this. Would zeolites before and after the procedure be useful? Maybe that would soak up any free mercury. Never used it, just a thought.

If you want to go the route of a detox supplement, I have been using Humic/Fulvic Acid to remove heavy metals.
I was very toxic from dental work with mercury, titanium, and other metals like arsenic and lead. I also used a good
probiotic supplement as well as indulge in homemade fermented vegetables. These worked quite well. If I can ever
afford the dental work needed, I am sure these protocols will remove any remaining metals.

You are correct, in this example, Mercury or rather the Potentised Amalgam is used as an isotherapic remedy to help the body recognise and expel the offending agent, not as a simillimum.
Isotherapy is not Homeopathy (see Hahnemann's argument with Dr. Lux) by definition, but it remains an incredibly powerful tool that each homeopath should be able to use.

Re: Homeopathic Merc for Dental Detox?
FYI, I was given humic/fulvic acid by a holistic healer with a combination of Native American medicine wheel training/ homeopathy/ allopathic medicine training. A very
interesting man who uses one of the computer programs and electrical body testing to read the different body systems. It is a program he developed for NASA; NASA
developed the computer.
Dental care is something we are taught as an isolated thing when we should be taught about the nutritional aspects regarding what we eat and how integral oral health is
to the rest of our health.
Good luck with your journey

I know there are some nutrients that help to block the uptake of some toxins, e.g. having adequate Vitamin C lessens the absorption of lead. Does anyone know if there’s anything like that for mercury?
