Can anyone sort me out please
Can anyone sort me out please
Firstly recent history:- Monday during the night had a diarrhoea and vomiting bug . Was only sick once but very violently including bringing up bile which burnt my throat. Diarrhoea was same colour and consistency as vomit. During most of Tuesday (I cancelled my patients) I had to keep running to the bathroom and stool was like water as if the hormone which extracts the liquid from the colon had stopped working.. I was able to keep down liquids and what little I had to eat. By Wednesday a lot of visits to the bathroom in the morning, still loose, but basically fine – I went to my usual body combat class as I wasn’t ill and felt fine .
Last evening Thursday I started with what I thought was heartburn back this was strange. As well as what I would imagine was conventional heartburn burping with burning I had what I can only describe as a lump/bubble/wind in my back . It was very painful and would come up with a painful burning sensation also up my back. It didn’t help to drink – in fact drinking felt as if there was an obstruction there. (I had just a bowl of home made smooth vegetable soup to eat after my body combat class before this started) I took a few drops of Robina tincture in water which was all I could think of to try. These sensations in my back continued and were very painful with the heartburn. Eventually I went to bed lying flat but on my side and as soon as I lay down the pains subsided.
This morning (Friday) I was absolutely fine (stool today back to normal) until just before 6 pm when the lump/pain/wind/burning in my back all restarted but this time without the heartburn coming up the oesophagus as well. I had just had a snack of some cashew nuts and a crunchy multispeed cracker. This time I took a dose of Nat Phos tissue salts and thought it eased a little . I went to my usual spin class despite the pain coming and going. Usually I get through nearly a little of water but I found it difficult to drink. Got home and took more Nat Phos 6x and Robina drops for good measure. I decide to eat my meal to see what would happen. Veg soup was difficult to get down as if there was an obstruction but gradually as I continued with chicken, sweet potato and broccoli it became easier to eat as if the obstruction was subsiding. I decided to try all sorts of food to see if anything would make it worse e.g. fruit including a satsuma and the only thing that stated it off badly was a piece of 95% chocolate!!! So here I am now sitting typing to you. At this moment it has gone but it comes and goes.
OK anyone any idea what this is all about. I am not a person who gets heartburn- maybe last time was pregnancy 40+ years ago. My thoughts? Did the vomiting induce a hiatus hernia?
I have just burped, then the pain, now like wind back started in my back again but only for seconds and it has gone again and all feels as if it is simmering.
I would be very interested in your thoughts- I am not ill or unwell.

Re: Can anyone sort me out please
Hi Jean ,
I have just done a bit of reading up on this condition which I have never heard of and I am pleased to say I don’t think it could be this. Firstly my pain comes and goes and is over in a few seconds. I have not had any chest pain. I also really don’t think I could have done a high intensity body combat class on Wednesday, a higher intensity Body combat class on Thursday evening and a challenging spin class tonight with such a condition? Have just taken 3 readings of my BP (I get white coat syndrome!!!) 151/73 pulse 57, 144/70 , 144/73. OK so the systolic is a bit high ,but nothing terrible. I do have hypertension and take just 1 Ayuvedic Mukta Vati to keep it down. (Full dose is 4 a day)
Does this put your mind at rest Jean?
All the best

Re: Can anyone sort me out please
One thing you do not have is the sense of imminent disaster and the intermittency is puzzling but as a GP I cannot ever take things for granted or wrongly treat as it would bring such adverse publicity on Homeopathy.
Do trust you get better soon, Jean

Thanks Jean.
I have no sense of disaster, more of amusement and curiosity. All these years and I was not aware that you were a GP!!!
I was sitting here going through my email thinking thank goodness whatever this is , is nowhere near as intense or frequent as last night. I thought it had gone today until it started again at 6pm tonight!!!

Not mine. Small tears can behave that way, flaps that open and close, giving symptoms that abate then start again.

It’s nowhere near as intense as last night so will see if it starts again tomorrow evening. Nat Phos 6x in a liquid potency I think has helped. Weird that it is fine all day and starts in the evening? I certainly don’t feel ill but I suppose neither do you Joe. And may I ask what you are doing to help heal your small tears?

First you diagnose it...then the treatment can go from watchful observation with lowering of the BP (mandatory) to invasive surgery....if that diagnosis is correct, of course.

Re: Can anyone sort me out please
Update- pleased to say problem seems to have abated. Have had a little burping today but absolutely no back symptoms . Nat Phos 6x MP which I made up into a liquid potency has been my saviour and I have only actually taken it twice today – more frequently yesterday.
Am now ready to forget about the whole incident and don’t believe (innate feeling inside) that there is anything wrong with my aorta or its walls. I trust I am right!!
Thanks for being there – those who replied.
