Thanks Sherill,
Again, all very relevant to the situation I'm looking at! And thanks for the explanation about DBT; I was reading the term, but hadn't explored to see what it means. Thanks.

Meant to say that I think Sherrill's one sentence is a very good description of the BPD. Heavy dependence on others while
struggling to be free of that dependence and can be great rage when needs not met even if not expressed.

Mangialavori has a bit to say about borderlines, mostly as they relate to the homeopath. From my notes:
Borderlines are stuck in adolescence: they want to be adult but are always seeking help from you, and you are responsible for all that happens to them and their inability to become adult.
They're extremely difficult to treat, mainly because they're so good at setting up others to fail. We watched him take the case of one woman whom we suspected of borderline tendencies (and some hysteria). Lots of symptoms that lacked coherence, constantly moving from one doc to another, then not following their advice. She wanted an audience for her suffering, and she did everything in her power to ensure she'd have the widest possible one.
Peace,
Dale

Forgot to say, or ask, for any cases that might be available to read?

Re: Borderline Personality Disorder
I have had 2 such patients. 1 suicided 3 years ago fortunately also under Mental Health.. Her bad states often modified by remedies but so many obstacles to cure, isolation, poverty, smoking, nutrition poor physical health and also bipolar. She could have died any time as had had several coronaries. Very demanding, often rewarding but so stressful..
Another ongoing with also many obstacles to cure.. They loose their friends as often abuse them. She though keeps trying ? developing a little insight but has caused me many sleepless nights and refuses oversight from Mental Health. Very fixed ideas ,always in the right and enemies everywhere. On the Mamba was able to go out yesterday and stand in a queue waiting to vote. She freaks out usually if out anywhere. If I abandon her as often wish to no one to take my place . However I must soon. She can be resourceful and will maybe manage.
Both severe trauma in childhood and lack of normal maturation. At times they have given back but good states do not last long as so vulnerable and prone to repeated disasters .

Thanx Jean. I can see how trying these cases were for you. It all sounds so familiar to me.
I am also thinking that these behaviors with their self absorption are exacerbated by the level of narcissism that has
become to prevalent in our culture. Not sure about other countries, but definitely in the US

Re: Borderline Personality Disorder
I have attached (hopefully!) an article that was in the Society Of Homeopaths journal in 2010 that I helped a colleague to write. It's titled Behind Closed Doors - you will see why. My colleague was working directly with sex workers in Bristol at the time and has successful cases where woman have turned their lives around. It brings in some conventional medical research as well, in relation to BPS, which is a diagnosis that is not uncommon in such women.

Here's a quote that says so much:
‘my mother has schizophrenia, my step father was a registered paedophile. From the age of four I was raped every night as I slept between them- imagine what that does to your head. I’ve been attacked, knifed, broken every bone in my body one way or another… All they can say is I’ve got a personality disorder, who the **** wouldn’t?’ Extract from case history, woman aged 46, referred for chronic treatment.

Re: Borderline Personality Disorder
I assume then that you have worked with people exhibiting this type of problem
Can you talk about some of what you learned in this process and how successful
you were?
