dental work

Post by Tanya Marquette »

I need information on the health impacts of dental implants.
Particularly concerned with any information on leaching of implant
material into the body. The implants are titanium but have no idea
what other materials go into making or installing them.

I also need information on what remedies might be used to deal with
all the drugs they want to administer. 2 different antibiotics and a
steroid
plus other pain killers, anesthesia and what all else.

Any help will be appreciated.

I’m going to get one next month, to fix where I had a root canal tooth removed. It will be zirconium, which my very holistic, biologic, dentist says has never been known to react. He uses Sanum remedies in the cavity rather than ABX, and even gives out a packet of Traumeel with every procedure! I will be using individual remedies, which will mainly be Hypericum. The anesthesia is a local injection of Lidocaine or a related compound; no need for a gas. His offices are also equipped with ozone generators for health and calming.

You should inquire about what, exactly, they plan to use and if it can be modified to your wishes. I certainly would avoid the steroid, as it will slow healing. You will, of course, be able to dodge anything they give you in pills for afterwards.

Remedies should be used for pain control and healing, and will work just fine. Any drugs to which you are subjected can be addressed with a remedy later, when symptoms become part of your chronic picture. I would take a lot of Vit C and alpha lipoic acid at the time, to help your system detoxify them.

Thank you Ginny. This is very important.

I looked into biological dentists and the nearest one is over 100 miles away and it problematic for distance as well as costs.
I need a full upper denture so the cost is very high.

The list of drugs used is scarey beyond belief. They plan to anesthetize me for the extractions and at least 6 implants in one
session.

What are Sannum remedies--not familiar with them.

I can ask him about ozone generators. His father was relatively holistic so this dentist is somewhat familiar I think.

I have already told him I did not want to take antibiotics or steroids after the procedure and intended to use homeopathic
remedies. His response was that he was uncomfortable but would work with me to the extent of having me sign that that
if my remedies were not controlling infection I would then use his antibiotics, etc. So that is more than many other dentists.

I did plan on upping my Vit C, Vit D3 and probiotics. He is hip to using probiotics with abs. That is better than most.
I will get some alpa lipoic acid. Is there a particular brand that you suggest?

The implant will be titanium which scares the heck out of me. The teeth will be zirconium.

I would think Arnica 200 or 1 M after the surgery and Hypericum in higher potencies, too.
Maybe even Bellis perrenis in higher potency. Do you agree?

BTW, where is your biological dentist?

Why steroids? That would seem to counteract whatever efficacy the A/B have.
Don't have info on the specifics of implants, but a patient of mine who's had three of these over the years with no problems suddenly developed severe tinnitus after the fourth. We're still working to find the right remedy, but so far Mang-acet. has been best.
Peace,
Dale

No matter what anyone says about putting any kind of implant intothe body, one must be extremely careful and well educated about the subject. Check out this informative article: http://articles.mercola.com/sites/artic ... teeth.aspx
I have a friend who has three implants because of teeth that never came in. Aside from the obvious fact that she needs treatment with a form of homeopathic calcium and is probably a tubercular type as well, she has had many related issues to deal with which were caused by the implants. One thing which is very aggravating is that she has to be extremely scrupulous in working to clean around and under the implanted teeth or she will suffer from irritated gums and food trapped and decaying in those areas. It has not been pleasant for her and several times she has said to me that she would like to have surgery to have the implants taken out.
There has also been much talk over the past several years of tooth regeneration which may be on the consumer health market in the not too distant future. http://articles.mercola.com/sites/artic ... again.aspx That process would be able to help regenerate a tooth rather than to attack it with the crude dental implements of today. I have mentioned before that cell salts and other low potencies of Calc Fluor, Calc Phos, Silica, Mag Carb, etc. dissolved and swished in the mouth will help to relieve minor dental pain and rebuild teeth.
I would investigate greatly before consenting to anything from the unsaved medical world.

thanx Dale. Will keep this info in mind.

Cannot express my anxiety over this procedure. I never do drugs and have not
had so much as an aspirin in my house for many decades. This is such an invasive
procedure.

Oh that I wish the solution were so simple. My teeth were not taken care of well and then dentists did major damage
leaving me with serious damage. Bridge work done did not last well so there are no teeth to rebuild. It is pretty dire
right now regarding teeth to enable eating healthily.

Sanum was new to me, too. They call them “homeopathic” but we know better:) Sort of isopathic, as you use them for conditions, and not the overall picture. My dentist learned them years ago. He understands my use of homeopathy and preference for single remedies, however, and I was fine with his dumping a Sanum mix into my extraction. Here’s a link:

http://biomedicine.com/education/about- ... pleo-sanum

I’m not sure if the ozone heals, but it creates a lovely atmosphere - literally - and is very relaxing. And the response he gave you is way better than one would expect, so you can work with that. Bellis would not have occurred to me - although I would definitely check in with a chiropractor after all that messing around with your head and jaw. I agree with the Arnica and Hypericum. The alpha lipoic acid is a generic - but look for the R-alpha form, which is more readily utilizable.

We are way off in the corner of the country in NW Washington state. Always far away from everything:)
Good luck with this, and stick to your guns.

I believe they use the steroids to (not my cup of tea – but the allopathic way) counter any immune reaction to the titanium implants and to slow swelling and inflammatory reactions in the area - ….. so it slows reactions till after you leave their care!! and so they can blame it on other possible causes if it is remote in time to the operations I have always considered.
Some people can have bad allergic reactions to the titanium (I had a patient who reacted to a titanium implant in his leg) I had said for a couple of years I thought it would most likely be the titanium – but Drs poo hooed it until finally he insisted they remove it (as they had tried everything else, the bone had healed by now and it was no longer needed but Drs didn’t want to remove it) and most of his dire circulation and skin problems on that leg cleared over a couple of months and he improved overall as body was not so toxic but he never fully regained his health - he was in his 80’s when this was done.
If you have ever had reactions to metals (like earrings jewellery etc) I would be very hesitant to put any in my body permanently. Never in a Silica patient – would be my other thoughts – not just because of the foreign object aspect but with their predilection to osteomyelitis.

Hi Tanya,
I'm curious why you're going with 6 implants rather than e.g. a bridge?
Is it more than just the "ick factor" of removing teeth for cleaning (okay, who loves the idea, but...)
I've got several root canals, so can't claim a lot of "purity" and not sure what my own choice would be, but a bridge would be so much less invasive.
