Non regenerative anemia
Hi All,
I have taken on some of Irene’s client cases that were in process when Irene sadly passed and I have a few questions and would sure appreciate some input.
This particular cat is on his determined ICT as well as supplements. He has Pillow paw but also recent blood work shows reticulocyte are continuing to drop, meaning his body is not making new red blood cells. He is on vitamin C, vitamin E, Pet tinic and Plumbum at 6c potency at only one drop a day, this is per Irene. I am hesitant to suggest Plumbum at 8c because it aggravates easily. Thoughts, Dr. Roz? He is also on Pyrogenium for the pillow paw. Client recently asked me about Gunpowder instead of Pyro. After reading about both in the MM, I thought sticking with Pyro seemed best. Any thoughts about characteristics Gunpowder might have as opposed to Pyro?
Thank you in advance.
Blessings,
Sharon Hamel, D.Vet.Hom.

There are some Gemmos that stimulate the bone marrow: Carpinus Betulus, Tamaris Gallica, Abies Pectinata, Cornus Sanguinea, but I have no idea how a cat would react tot hose plants.
They might be toxic to cats....

It is quoted in Phathak and Vermeulen as also acting on the bone marrow, without any references as from where this information comes.

Strontium Carb:
Knerr: BONES: MARROW: SYMPTOMS CAN HARDLY BE DETERMINED IN LOCALITY, BUT SEEM TO BE IN MARROW.
Millennium repertory: Pain bone marrow
Extremity pain, General, Bone Marrow
Not convincing............

Thank you, Dr. Roz, yes I think gemmos may be toxic for cats.

I used some many years ago on a beagle without any problems, though....

Irene taught that dogs livers have more bells and whistles as pack animals, so they are able to detox, where cats livers are simpler and light because they are solo hunters and do not have that detox feature.

Re: Non regenerative anemia
Strontium carb. is one of Dr. Ramakrishnan's remedies for leukemia, so his clinical experience shows it does have an effect on bone marrow. Would it also work for non-regenerative anemia, which isn't the same thing? Perhaps, but what about Ferrum phos. in tissue salt potency?
There's so little known about non-regenerative anemia. Would upping the hemoglobiin in the blood be helpful without an absolute increase in RBCs? Another question, as this post seems entirely to comprise questions, is whether the pillow paw is in any way related to the anemia? There seems to be a proliferation of one type of cell and a paucity of the other.
Peace,
Dale

I used it once in someone whose marrow was depressed after radiation. I think it helped.
