It truly is a dreadful cough. All the suggestions are excellent, of course. When I had it, it responded surprisingly well to Causticum -- which of course is known for that "stuck mucus."

It sounded like a healing response to me. As I was reading your description, what jumped out at me all over was Calc -- keep that possibility in mind, perhaps, with further doses??
