Minutus

Can anyone help me on rubrics for this? Patient has small marks, appearing anywhere on the skin, with clear red border, and reddish pinkish centre. The marks are around 2-5mm in size, they don't itch and aren't painful. The border is possibly very slightly raised sometimes, but mainly even with the skin surface. The same patient has a canker sore which also has a clear red border, and is slightly brown-ish in the center.
Any ideas welcomed!

best to scout the skin rubrics = skin, eruptions, blotches, red +
elevated

where exactly in the mouth is the canker sore = mouth, aphthous ulcers;
possibly skin, eruptions, coppery + what ever modalities apply.

The problem maybe Pityriasis. I remember getting rid of this in someone
years ago with Carc. which isn't even in the list below but came out as a
constitutional rx..

From Yasgur's definition "a skin disease characterized by the shedding of fine flaky scales like bran" it doesn't seem like it. He also has pityriasis pilaris also called rubra pityriasis where each papule is pierced by a hair - but it doesn't really look like that either. Just reddish marks on the skin, not inflamed, not itching or painful, but definitely increasing - light red on the inside surrounded by a darker red border.

Hi Rochelle,
I checked out Pityriasis Versicolor - funny thing is it's the exact description of what another patient of mine has, although I was never given a diagnosis. So that's really helpful. But nothing of the description matches what I see in this patient - and the skin problems of these two patients look completely different. So I don't think it is! I'm sure I've studied remedies that produce marks with a clear red border but I can't remember what ones.
The skin issue isn't a central problem in the case, but is intriguing. Main elements include anxiety when with people (although the patient is very sociable), excessive perspiration even in cold weather especially when anxious, and bad breath. I can't give more details of the case. Px has received Mercury in the past which didn't help.

Re. Rubric help eruption with red border, I think rubric 'eruption red' might help.In this regard I can tell my late father's tip : 'eruption red' - Cinnabaris. In my clinic I've used it & got result. Where exact rubric is not available we can use sprit of the rubric. I think symptom similiarity is not is not 'textual' always, but some time it is 'conceptual' too. Conceptual Rx is the art part in homoeopathy rather than textuality.

This was also elaborated by C.M.Boger [vide esp. repertory part of Synoptic key also preface of the book]. I also request to go thro'P.Sankaran's article Intrroduction to Synoptic key.
