Infant 28 days age excess cry last 5-6 days especialy at night, after
feeding, when trying to lie it down. appetite is there but some times
cry when feeding , thick coated tongue, stools with slight smell, yellow
colour, When crying twist and turns, Face full of prickly heat like
tiny eruption ( 10 days ) Was using johnson and johnson power ( Advised
to discontinue it). Due to the irritability one dose of cina 30 was
given two days back. No much relief in crying on the day of dose was ok
but yesterday and today the same story no relief to the white tongue,
slight reduction in skin. Anal redness was there reduced.
Any suggestion, any advice, any info on the condition. or condition
where we can read the symptoms and cause of such small infant - All book
refer from the dentition period.

BCG Vaccination on 4th day.

Did you try Chamomilla?
What does the pediatrician say? Any fever?

Hi NAndana,
Your child patient could need Rheum. It would help if you detected
some sourness of scalp or perpiration, but its not necessary. The
prickly heat on the face (probably head as well) indicates the
possibility of perspiration there.

The differentiating tubric is the one at the bottom, weeping while
feeding which has Antim Tart only. So consider its possiblity.
While the rubric weeping with restlessness (twisting and turbing) has
only Rheum.
HOpe this helps. tell us what happens.

You could even consider giving the dose of RHeum to the mother instead
if she is totally nursing.

Thank you all for the help.

This is only the second newborn below 30 days i am seeing and both where
having the same symptoms face with eruption after starting Johnson and
Johnson. Both the infants had taken BCG vaccine before the first 5 days
of birth. And the symptoms began b/w - 16-28th day. In the first case
the skin was 99% due to the powder because they had discontinued its use
and the symptoms had reduced.

When this case came to me i gave one dose of sulphur 200 to mother and
one dose of cina to newborn - ( now i know cina was not the medicine)

The newborn is completely on mothers milk and the mother is taking
vegetarian food. ( Expect a milk powder she had taken in the first week
of delivery and discontinued as she has enough milk)

Infant is given some vitamin drops as advice by the physician. Why it is
given every day i don't know. Most of the things are blindly followed by
allopaths here as it is a "Preventive"
