Hi guys,
This case has a symptom with which I'd like to have some help if it were
possible.
22 year old female.
She says that in order to achieve an orgasm she must think of things that
are "morally wrong", for example, that she's cheating on her partner or that
the man from the fantasy is cheating on his girlfriend... This patient says
that in real life she despises such behavior and would never do that. This
causes her great distress.

So, I was thinking that one rubric that applies could be:
Mind, pleasure, voluptous ideas, only, in (Bell).

Symptom is permanent regardless of the partner. Right now in long-term
relationship but also happened all throughout last relationship.
I know it's not too much info but it's all I could get from her.
I'd appreciate any other ideas you may have.

From what I read in magazines--while standing in line, I mean; I don't
*buy* them! it seems to be not such an uncommon thing, or
similar things. And certainly imaginings are not harmful; many of us
imagine many things that we would never do (and never want to do) in
real life. I wonder if the "great distress" about it part isn't more
unusual than the "imagining" part? Can she say anything about why she
is so bothered by her fantasies? Is she afraid that "thinking" could
lead to "doing", or is there guilt, or ??

I do not think this is just at the sexual level - this kind of gives
a secret thrill- doing something that is taboo for herself...or is it
because she is not satisfied with things at hand etc. I would
probably explore similar behavior in non sexual contexts... And
probably ask her just to theorize why she is doing that - what she
thinks is happening- does she identify any reason for doing so etc.
Further exploration is definitely in order...Explore what cheating
means to her and who she knows has cheated and what other forms of
cheating she has experienced in her life and how she felt then-
Is cheating a kind of getting back at someone - what she will do if
in real life if she cheats or her partner cheats her etc.

And as far as homeopathy itself is concerned I am not sure just
looking for this symptom alone in the repertory is going to help
any...
Did she come for getting treatment for this? -what happens if she
loses such "immoral thoughts" and loses getting orgasm as well?

Thanks. Yoour comments are very insightful and I will definitely ask more on
the next visit.
Let me grab my notes. OK. I'd say that the distress is a reflection of her
being "a very harsh judge" of herself, and the cheating fantasy a way to
deal with her fears of infidelity (yes, history of being cheated on) which
she says subsided after we started treatment. Just recently did she mention
these fantasies to me. She's bothered by them because she used to be able to
enjoy her sexuality without the need for any fantasies, and says she was
"sexually healthier" before she started using the fantasies (about 3 years
ago). I think a psychologist would be more apt to explore that particular
issue with her...

Hi Caro,
A very interesting question and I concur in some part with what
Hahnemannian has said.
There seems to be a tendency to get a thrill from the idea of
"cheating" in general and may not be necessarily sexually related.

Again, (I must sound like a broken record), I believe sexuality to be
an expression of the soul. Achieving an orgasm that is fulfilling in a
deep sense (and not just the physical sensation of orgasm) has to
relate to being in touch with the soul of ones partner involved. Other
wise it remains a physical exercise at nest, and I can't imagine it to
be "fulfilling" in the long termk, even if one does experience
orgasmic sensation.

With this very basic understanding, if one can only achieve orgasm
based on cheating, there is definitely something that has deviated her
sexual thought development in childhood. Probably she was exposed to
many situations of 'cheating' sexually, either in real life or in
pronorgraphy and that is what aroused her initial sexual instinct in
the first place. This "bad learning" requires to be unlearnt before
she can relearn the purity of ones sexuality, which is surely within her.

So, does a remedy do this? I'm not sure it can. I think this requires
a conscious decision of the will to overcome and requires actually a
spiritual change (which is also a well documented process that is
possible). IF a remedy induces her to work this path, then its great.
We already can see that in her mind, she is aware that this is not
"morally" right. She does not need to condemn herself, but work a
spiritual process as mentioned above. She will definitley in time
learn what it is to achieve orgasm in a trully fulfilling way - and
not be fooled (like any one of us can be) into focussing on having an
"orgasm" for the sake of it. I feel that every one of us could learn
to truly understand and experience ones sexuality and its connection
with ones soul and with fulfillment.
Meanwhile, I'd rather consider that I give this girl a good remedy for
a true expression of disease in the vital force ( as for me this
deviation in sexual thought is not an expression of disease but simply
wrong learning at some stage), and look for characteristics in disease
expression which may or many not include "cheating" (based on
Hahenmannian's sugggestion).
