Dear all, I have a case that I would like to share for input from anyones wisdom. I have tried a couple of remedies with partial results which I will reveal later but dont want them to cloud others perceptions of the case.

Female 40 yo
slight build, fine features Fine wavy long fair hair with a slightly ginger cast to it
She is very sensitive Psychic / clairvoyant picks up on other peoples "stories" (she predicted my sons car accident earlier this year - I infortunately didnt pick up the message until the day after so couldnt change the days events?)
Has thirst 3, flatulence, Chilly, away from home ( away from Lake)
Cold feet all the time, Bad breath, Face flushes, Nose bleeds

She does well on occassional dose of Nit ac as can be quite resentful of being demanded too much from by chn and husband.
Main complaint
Hyperhidrosis - gushing profuse perspiration Thuja)

Dear Pauline, a few questions and points -

has she been checked for any other endocrine disorder, thyroid,
hormones etc?

does the perspiration have an odour or colour or feel to it

how does she react when she has this, how does it make her feel + can
you say more about her nature + how does she express her fear now
regarding the stalker

going by her medical history is it possible she has had a lot of
allopathic suppression

menstrual history??

how important is the flatulence? + modalities, cause?

what causes the face to flush, is this like ferrum but >> cloudy weather suggests Causticum and Bryonia

does the perspiration actually >>> any other sx

medorrhinum also has the sensation of wind blowing on the eyes

how important is the psychic element to the case

can you say more about the resentment she feels if imposed upon

a bit confused about the water - you say > beach
(which has to be near water, is it salt water or fresh that

to you - I wanted to speak to her first. I have put her answers under each
of your questions below. I will be away from 16th -26th Nov so may not be

I think you have to find a way of knowing if this is
hormonal/endocrine. It would also be useful to know what rubrics you
have used, for example perspiration, profuse, daytime only = sepia +
perspiration stains brown = sepia and much of what you write reminds me
of Sepia - there is a sensation as if heat ascends, as though hot water
has been poured over her, sweat easy and offensive in axilla etc.
Ringworm is the nearest fungal infection, chronic nasal catarrh which
will cause bad breath, easy nosebleeds

There are a lot of other issues here, quite deep ones and it is
difficult to know to what extent they need incorporating into the case
from a distance.

Sad as it is the need for clouds is like saying she cannot take too
much stimulation that might come with brightness? Phosphoric maybe,
especially with the 'out of body' sensations. Phos has extreme
perspiration, nosebleeds, psychic qualities, chilly, fungus hematodes.
Phos also has a similar sensation to Sepia - as if immersed in hot
water, as opposed to hot water being poured over.

The little group of Nat mur, Phos, Sepia can appear quite similar and
all close to Carcinosin - might be worth getting a small group of
potential rx and doing a comparison, such as to what degree she likes
sympathy, her reaction to storms, food cravings etc.

Both phos and sepia have the pains in rectum that extend upwards but I
would be wary of prescribing on just one sx even though it is an easy
to rep one, it needs the context of the whole. Same with the air in the
eyes sx. Her love of the sea could be more important general sx and
could well indicate a sea rx.

Dear Joy Thankyou for such a prompt reply I am off to Tassy tomorrow.
I had already tried Sepia and came to it for much the same reasons as you.
She had a partial result that did not last but it was enough to make me
consider Phos as I know that Sepia is high in Phos and she had not told me
about the nose bleeds until just before I posted this query. The only thing
that made me question it is her need to be on her own a lot as I had always
considered that Phos has a need for company and people. She says that she
has gotten worse (ie fearful) with storms in past few years and can always
feel them coming. I always think of phophorous in terms of how it stays
quiescent and cool until you remove it from the cool fluid it is stored in
and then it flares with great heat (is the sweat the bodies effort to
quieten the flame and bath the Phos with cooling fluid to keep it quiet
again???)or like the phosphorous match, inert and cool until you strike it
and it flares with great heat and flame. I guess that this analogy fits
We are going to try Phos when I get back.
She is feeling very resentful at present re her children (3 x teenage
daughters) making unreasonable demands and not taking no for answer without
hysterionics so she is happy to take Nit ac for the time being as it is
supporting her on the emotional level and helping her haemorrhoids and
stopping her from supressing the emotions but it makes no difference to the
sweating.
Nat Mur was also in my group to look at but saw too little to make it a high
marker and her resentments are so well dealt with by Nit ac it kind of left
the picture. Also the thermal seemed a bit too chilly.

Have several patients who have hugely benefitted from silica, periodically. Others who haven't, of course. (Better idea than giving them urticaria (sic)!!)

You say periodically. Does that mean you think the Silica is palliative?
(Where did the urticaria come into the equation??)
