What was that?!?

My daughter had a really odd episode this morning, and I wonder if
anyone could shed any light on it? Basically...
She left for school about 8 this morning, no sign of anything amiss.
but not enough to think of leaving.
it as what you see after you've looked too long at a bright light--a
bright patch I guess--but it didn't fade away. And the left half of
her field of vision more or less disappeared. She describes something
like waving and shimmering color, couldn't make out much shape. She
fussed with her contacts, and about ten minutes later it seemed better
(and later went back to normal).
By about 9:45 she was on the couch whimpering, said headache felt "like
a clamp", a crushing sort of pain in temples, and also above right eye,
that being the strongest. She described a sort of squeezing and then
releasing. She said it hurt constantly, but had paroxysms when it
became much worse (whimpering, shaking).
On trying to drink a bit of cold water, she vomited it back up, and
then fell asleep. I'd given Bell. shortly before, but it hadn't seemed
to work--but then again, maybe it did... She woke up about an hour
later and (huh?) went back to school. Leaving me to ask, "Who *was*
that masked man?", or some such.
Does this sound like some sort of a migraine, or ??
Thanks!
