Miasms and Soul - Ockham's razor

Hindus do not believe in original sin and fall from grace. Hindus do
not believe that God is just kindness all over. There is nothing
good or bad except how we define it thru our own different cultures
and religions. We create our reality. ( And Hinduism is a federal
religion if I may say so - there is no one practice that you can say
is typical of a hindu, this is because so many religions came
together to make hinduism. One would seem directly contrasting
another. And that is the reason I say that ultimately these are only
belief systems.
From a practice perspective it is not what we think that is
important- it is what the patient thinks and what he/she believes in
that is important. How is their individual belief system influencing
them, given that belief system is their symptom a correct coping
mechanism or not etc. We need to individualize even there. Earning
$6000 a year is poverty in USA whereas luxury in India, each and
every patient has to be assessed based on local, family belief
systems and behavior and not using a common universal understanding.
Aversion to beef might be a symptom in US but not in India.
There have been cannibals in the world who claimed that eating the
heart of the enemy gives them the strength and spirit of their
enemy. Is this patholoigical? Is this a crime? Is this against
nature? What would you do when such people come for homeopathic
treatment> Is their soul filled with love for humanity, May be yes
for their own group. They can only be judged against their own law -
whatever their group practices are - from a medical / homeopathic
point of view. May be it is a crime if judged in USA or India... But
we are not supposed to be judge and jury any more than we are
priests.
That is why the concept of sin is itself so confounding... let us
think of something that is universal, encompasses the disease states
that might occur in all living things and for which homeopathy is an
active therapy- instead of mixing religion and medicine together.
Have you heard of Ockham's razor? You can read this and apply the
same to all religious theories in relationship to Homeopathy and
chronic diseases.
Ockham's Razor is the principle proposed by William of Ockham in the
fourteenth century: "entities should not be multiplied
unnecessarily''.

In many cases this is interpreted as ``keep it simple''
Consider for example the following two theories aimed at describing
the motion of the planets around the sun
The planets move around the sun in ellipses because there is a force
between any of them and the sun which decreases as the square of the
distance.

distance. This force is generated by the will of some powerful
aliens.
Since the force between the planets and the sun determines the
motion of the former and both theories posit the same type of force,
the predicted motion of the planets will be identical for both
theories. the second theory, however, has additional baggage (the
will of the aliens) which is unnecessary for the description of the
system.
If one accepts the second theory solely on the basis that it
predicts correctly the motion of the planets one has also accepted
the existence of aliens whose will affect the behavior of things,
despite the fact that the presence or absence of such beings is
irrelevant to planetary motion (the only relevant item is the type
of force). In this instance Ockham's Razor would unequivocally
reject the second theory. By rejecting this type of additional
irrelevant hypotheses guards against the use of solid scientific
results (such as the prediction of planetary motion) to justify
unrelated statements (such as the existence of the aliens) which may
have dramatic consequences. In this case the consequence is that the
way planets move, the reason we fall to the ground when we trip,
etc. is due to some powerful alien intellect, that this intellect
permeates our whole solar system, it is with us even now...and from
here an infinite number of paranoid derivations.
For all we know the solar system is permeated by an alien intellect,
but the motion of the planets, which can be explained by the simple
idea that there is a force between them and the sun, provides no
evidence of the aliens' presence nor proves their absence.
