RU, Mind; phen; FEAR; death, of; termination, of fatal:, ant-t[1], ph-ac[3], spong[3]

I have a patient with a constant morbid fear of death which can give her panic atacks. Would the rubric above cover it?

Not with just those 3 rx in it - ant tart and spongia will have this
terrible fear due to possible suffocation and phos-ac it will be from
utter weakness, hopeless despair and a pining away. Far too many other
rx have this morbid fear. Delusion about to die might be more relevant
or even just the much larger rubric fear of death is sufficient. Joy

Thanks Joy - I think it will have to be the larger rubric but it is a big
factor in the case as she says the thoughts are persistant. It is a fear of
about what is going to happen to her (Ars) , the fact that she will not
exist any more and the question where do we all go?

Yes I should have added more than I wrote - along the lines of 'fear of
death is normal enough so a morbid fear usually has something to do
with what you mention' and doubtful of soul's welfare rubric would be
useful? always worth going that little bit further with seemingly
rational fears, e.g. it could be being trapped in a coffin, or being
cremated or being buried that is mirroring more 'alive' fears. Perhaps
find out how she visualises this. also there is 'thoughts, persistent'
+ 'thoughts, tormenting' but it could just come down to a more basic
fear of abandonment and being all alone in life and death. Go to bed

Oops, missed out another one - 'death, thoughts of' with all the usual
rx in it but a useful one to cross refer with. Joy
