Minutus

Why is it that it's so difficult to treat our own?! My 9 year old daughter has been throwing up since yesterday. She complains of stomach cramps in the umbilical area, general all-over achiness, she has low energy - wiped most of the time. She's on and off thirsty, and her fever has been going up and down - not sure if connected to the remedies I've been giving her.
In terms of remedies I was limited to what I had at home. At the beginning, she was throwing up, querulous and very cold. I gave her Arsenicum, didn't seem to do anything, but she warmed up slightly. I gave her Lachesis as it's a remedy she has responded well to in the past, and she had started talking fast in a hyper way. She responded slightly to it, but then stopped. I gave her Pulsatilla 30, as she started insisting that someone stay with her, very clingy and wanting more air in the room. Seemed to help a bit so I gave her Pulsatilla 200 and that saw us through the night with no more stomach cramps and less throwing up, and the fever went down. In the morning she seemed slightly stronger but was complaining about headaches, mainly in the forehead and temples. I gave her more of the Pulsatilla but it didn't seem to help and she started feeling weaker. I then gave her Lachesis 30 (I'd given LM1 before - what I had at home..), at which she threw up again and conked out.
She seems to be sighing a lot, also yawning and trying to yawn constantly.
Any ideas? She's generally quite hyper, very verbal, likes teaching other kids to do things, very easily offended and insulted. She's small for her age.

It is only difficult if we don't take a full case - location, sensation
extension, modalities, concomitants

From the little you say - abdominal cramps, headaches, cold, fever,
vomiting, querulous, needing air, you would have to look at prunus,
diosceria (has to bend back), colocynthus (has to bend forward),
ipecac, nux vomica, carbo veg, the magnesiums + many more probably.

Did you try Ipecac? One of my favorites for children's fever with
vomiting...
Based on colic symptoms - Colocynthis
Eupatorium and Gels are also good-
I would go for Ipecac if the symptoms are very much like Puls.
Usually I give Ipecaca and then follow it up with Puls later.

I didn't try Ipecac as the tongue wasn't "clean", it was coated. Didn't go for Coloc. as there didn't seem to be any bending forward with the stomach cramps, she was lying on her back, wiped out, complaining that her stomach hurt her. I was wondering about Eupatorium and didn't think at all of Gels.
In the meantime she woke up after the post Lach-30 conking out and seemed to be in better spirits, if very weak. She demanded food, hugs, and then went back to sleep. Fever seems to be down, I just hope the vomiting is done too.

Nux-V, Carbo-veg and the magnesiums were next on the list! Possibly first Lyc.
I'm not familiar with Prunus, I'll look into it to learn more.
So far it seems the Lachesis 30 is helping. One thing she was having which is actually in the repertory was "inadequate yawning" - trying to yawn but not getting the full yawn in!
It's under SLEEP, yawning, ineffectual. Curious.

Your case seems to me Gastric flu. For which Bapt.t.is best indicated as per your description of the symptoms. I think it is best to start with 200 QDS for 5 days. Afterwards a few doses of Tubeculinum Av 200 to finish the case.

Thanks very much for your response. In the end I gave her her constitutional, Lachesis, in 200C, which finished off the job within several hours. I haven't given her anything else since, as apart from a slight diarrhea for a day or two there were no further symptoms.
