Dear Rochelle,
Was the mastectomy done for a benign or malignant
tumor ?
If the breast tumor was benign, the present
manifestation of a skin level( ectodermal) cancer is
an advancement of the psoric miasm. (Sk Bannerjee).
Also consider her age. The slowness suggests the
miasm. (Luc De Schepper, Hahnemann revisted)

But if the breast tumor was malignant, then I would
see this present expression as a better one-
direction of cure ! Since the deeper malignancy
(endodermic)would have been a sycotic one and the
present being psoric, there is this progression to a
less dangerous miasm.

If your actual analysis tallies with the above, then
you can settle with the indicated Rx plus the all
important Nosodal intercurrents - For the
identification of which I made all the above analysis.

Best,
venkat

She had the mastectomy 30 years ago and she has no idea if the tumour was benign or malignant so we will probably never find out!! I have decided on NO remedies this month as I want her to clear her system of those she has been taking on a regular basis.

Hi Venkat,
I would be *awfully* careful about calling a possibly cancerous lesion
"direction of cure"! I realize that this *can* (rarely) happen as part
of cure of a *very deep* mental disorder, but we'd need to see that a
LOT of improvement had happened on the mental/emotional level first,
and that's not the impression I've had here... Is your understanding
different?

Hi Shannon,
Am I misunderstood ?
My seeing the situation was based on that bit of info
of her past- the breast tumor. There were many if's in
my post but all were to be confirmed by the first
person report.

My observation which concerned you is the direction of
cure of a (possible)cancerous lesion. I will add a big
IF to the last sentence- only when the physician sees
the connection from her previous suffering to the
present one and (again) IF the present one is a lesser
one. I again infer from Praful Vijaykar that (the
inside out apart)that the transition from sycosis to
psora is always positive.

Well, the word positive may replace the direction of
cure once all the IF's are in place and well
confirmed.

Venkat
(PS: I really miss it for not continuing the thread on
carcinocin a month ago- gh the unavoidable domestic
and 'official' duties! Will search it out and post
again.)

Thanks Venkat,
I see what you're saying, and it's an added consideration, thanks!
(And when/if you have more to add on carcinosin, I look forward
eagerly!) :-)
Best wishes,
Shannon

Hi Venkat-
What does Banerjee say about benign conditions that sometimes become
malignant... does this signify a change in miasmatic predominance
when the same lesion from being benign becomes malignant? The same
ulcer based on the infecting element can go from being superficial
to involving deeper structures, does he say anything about it?
Thanks

Hi Hahnemannian,
Bannerjee's explanation stops with this. He says when the organs
that evolved out of the endoderm are affected with malignancies,
then the sycotic element is there.

But he does not state the underlying miasm when a benign condition
turns malignant. I think the answer is as old as Homeopathy. Cancers
are often products of suppression. Personally I think sycosis takes
over at that point with psora going latent. Bannerjee is from the
bengali school ( HC Allen's followers)where only the four miasms are
accepted. cancer as a miasm is not explained in his works.

But, tell me what you think.

Hi Venkat-
I am not a great believer of miasm theory. Whereas there is a Law of
cure miasms are only a theory to explain the chronicity of
complaints and why certain acutes seem to be prolonging. You are
aware how there are so many para-homeo theories for this including
Grauvolt's, Tissue salts, intestinal nosodes etc. We are giving
weightage to miasm theory because it is from Hahnemann and his
observations were always careful and meticulous. For me the whole
question is still not fully answered. THere are things that miasm
theory still does not explain fully and some of the extensions and
additions people built around are still more confusing. I think
Ghatak translated a miasm piece and I read it long back - 20 years
may be- I am not sure if this is the same Banerjee-
And people threw in mesoderm and endoderm to confuse it even
further... somehow I feel that this whole thing which started out
simple has become more complicated and looks like the tower of Babel
of Homeopathy. Is it not for the same reason to treat chronic
complaints that there is this Core Delusions business as well?
Ringworm miasm etc. Why not? Ultimately everyone writes his/her own
version of miasm theory ( including the Banerjees and Luc De
Scheppers of the world) and wonder of wonders - all claim that their
version works- I do not know how every ones version would work - if
this is a scientific process- and my version of it is - homeopathy
works without even considering miasmatic basis....Instead of talking
about miasms - if let us say - for all chronic conditions start with
Sulphur if these symptoms are there and with Mercury if these
symptoms are there as part of the indications without going into any
theory- will it not be effective the same way? Of course I believe
in suppression etc. but why should we build a whole framework of
pathogenesis around that? Remember Sulphur and Mercury have been
called the Yin and Yang of alchemy long before Hahnemann and even
in Siddha, Ayurveda etc. Well that is my take of it - and I have
prescribed Sulphur and Mercury on these lines without overly
thinking about miasms - guess what - it still works...
