The main educational ones run for 2 1/2 hours each week for 3 weeks.
Week 1 deals with common remedies for trauma and first aid.
Week 2 looks at remedies for simple acutes
Week 3 looks at some of the mental emotional states associated with
the polycrests.
The above remedy component of each workshop would only take up about
1/2 - 3/4 hr. The bulk of the time is spent covering history, theory
and philosophy issues such as vitalism, L of S, historical development
of potentisation, theories of homeopathic action, aggravations,
sensitives, dosage and potency, direction of cure, suppression, return
of old symptoms, liquid vs pilule, case-taking, when to self treat and
when to see a practitioner, etc. What I try to create is homeopathic
thinking and an awareness that homeopathy is not about using
potentised substances in an allopathic manner. I guess they would be a
crash course in first year homeopathy and I make them available for
free.
There is a fourth wrkshop in week 4 for those who have been bitten by
the bug and want to start using homeopathy in the home. It provides
further info and practise on turning pilules into liquids, frequency
of dosage, different potency scales, response to the remedy,
sensitivity, etc.
