Seghal on the Totality

Seghal on the Totality,

"Now, to return to our original topic. What a strange anomaly there is
in homoeopathic philosophy that where on the one hand, the principle of the
'Centre to the periphery' is preached, an on the other hand, while
prescribing, the centre is totally forgotten altogether, and the totality
is taken care of. (By totality, as is generally known, it is meant that all
the symptoms aggregated in to one single whole from head to toe, making a
picture. This picture so achieved is to be matched with the drug pictures.
In this way and so on, one after the other, one has to make effort to fit
in as many drugs as possible, till some action starts." (Rediscovery of
Homoeopathy, page 70.

This is NOT the Essence, Totality and Disease-Gestalt of Hahnemannian
Homoeopathy and shows no understanding of the judging the characteristic
value of symptoms by the striking, extraordinary, unusual and odd
characteristic symptoms of aphorism 153! Homoeopathy does NOT teach that
one takes ALL the symptoms of the patient from head to toe to make one
picture! This is not the *Esse*, which means to understand, comprehend, and
come into contact with the inner nature of the disease. This is not the NOT
the *Totality* which expresses the essential elements of the disorder. This
is NOT the *disease-Gestalt* which is the observable pattern of the inner
Wesen of the disease, the mistunement of the vital force. This above
definition of the totality is incorrect and show a lack of understanding
the teachings on case taking in the Organon and the writings of past masters.

No well trained homoeopath takes ALL the symptoms from head to toe "and
tries to match as many drugs as possible, till some action starts". This
show a lack of understanding of applying the Esse, Totality, and
disease-Gestalt and judgement of the characteristic value of symptoms. It
is the essential nature of the objective signs, coincidental befallments,
and subjective symptoms of the *body and soul* that demonstrate the Gestalt
of the disease. A well trained homoeopath studies the inner Wesen of the
disease state through the mistuning of the vital force and uses SEUO
characteristics to find as FEW remedies as possible to promote a rapid,
gentle permanent cure.

This is example where Seghal misrepresents the teachings of the
Organon and then refutes his own concepts to state that the mind is the
only true centre. He does not seem to realize that the vital force is the
power at the center of the mind-body matrix. It is the mistuning of the the
vital force that is the proximate cause of the disease not "Toxins". Cure
takes place through the primary action of the homoeopathic remedy and the
secondary curative action of the vital force not eliminations. Toxins and
eliminations are secondary products of the disease not the source, the
disease-tuned vital force. Seghal's totality is a "jungle" in his own mind.

Sincerely, David Little
