Avian Influenza; Human / 'Bird Flu', SARS- Biowarfare or a Pandemic of Propaganda?

Hello!!!
In just TWO days, there have been 3 postings from ProMED, of what seems to
be the start of an epidemic. You may wish to start tincturing Plague herbs
for this... as it will be hopping the " big pond" probably sooner than we'd
like. This is very important. We may wish to instigate a technical
discussion on the symptoms of this, and which herbs, homeopathics, &
frequencies historically & current technology worked for the last Plague and
which ones may be helpful in this new one....
In China, things are really heating up. It's best to be prepared just in
case.
While I know that the Vaccine companies are just chomping at the bit to sell
their vaccines, typically theirs are not applicable for the year they are
selling them, and the vaccines typically "give" the malady instead of
protect against it. This is really a problem. If we look at the symptoms,
we may be able to look at what treats the symptoms in a variety of methods.
Several years ago, there was another homeopathic list, and I "think" Eileen? used to post symptoms of certain upcoming plagues that are routinely posted for worldwide plagues that are breaking out, and the homeopathic list would group together and post remedies that would best fit the sympomology picture. In this way, finding a remedy is not so personal. It's easier to be objective when one is dealing with just generic symptoms, and when not under the gun, it's easier to think!
I'm thinking for reading the following government posts on these outbreaks that we need to possibly find something somewhere in the middle of a pulmonary influenza and an ebola type plague.... I don't know that any ONE remedy can meet this challange, as this is probably a genetically altered pathogen, (not found in nature), but we can try.

Indonesia: avian influenza situation - WHO update 25

The Ministry of Health in Indonesia reported that a 38 year old father who
died on 12 Jul 2005 was the country's 1st laboratory-confirmed H5N1
positive human case of avian influenza. His 2 daughters also died of severe
pneumonia illness compatible with H5N1 infection, but laboratory
confirmation is not yet available. Limited samples were available from the
8 year old daughter who died on 14 Jul 2005, and the 1 year old daughter
who died on 9 Jul 2005.
The 8 year old became ill with fever, diarrhoea, then cough, on 24 Jun
2005. She was brought to Siloam Gleneagles Hospital, Tangerang, on 28 Jun,
where she died with respiratory distress 20 days after onset. The 1 year
old became ill on 29 Jun 2005 with fever, diarrhoea, then cough, finally
respiratory distress, and died 10 days after onset. The father became ill
on 2 Jul with fever, mild cold, then cough and was taken to the same
hospital on 7 Jul where he died 10 days after onset. Samples from the man
tested positive for avian influenza H5N1 virus by the WHO H5 reference
laboratories at the Department of Microbiology, University of Hong Kong,
and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta USA. Samples
from the 2 children are being tested.
The remaining 4 residents of the house (2 members of the family and 2
household workers) remain healthy and show no symptoms to date. The
Ministry of Health is closely following over 300 contacts, including health
care workers, family members, school and office colleagues and neighbours.
None of these contacts has shown any symptoms to date.
An investigation is currently underway with team members from Indonesia's
Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture, United States Naval Medical
Research Unit 2, and WHO to identify potential sources of the infection.
Serum samples have been collected from contacts of the cases, starting from
the family and neighbours, health-care workers, while any possible poultry
contact is being investigated (such as market sellers, retail food outlets,
pet birds). Environmental and veterinary sampling is being carried out by
the Ministry of Agriculture.
Health education to hospital and other health care workers has been
continuing since January 2004, when avian influenza was first reported in
Indonesia. The Ministry of Health, working with WHO, has carried out
seminars and workshops to strengthen surveillance of influenza-like
illness, outbreak investigation, and appropriate isolation and barrier
nursing. Stockpiling of personal protective equipment to protect health and
veterinary workers, and procurement of antivirals for treatment and
prophylaxis, as appropriate, is continuing. Information has been provided
to assist the community with general health precautions, including frequent
handwashing, avoiding contact with sick animals, and safe and hygienic
handling and cooking of poultry.

Suspect avian disease in Russia

Information received on (and dated) 22 Jul 2005 from Dr Evgueny A
Nepoklonov, head of the Main Veterinary Department, Ministry of Agriculture
and Food, Moscow:
A poultry disease was registered in 5 villages in the Novosibirsk district
(in the southern part of the country), among birds in non-commercial
premises of open type.
The first signs were found on 15 Jul 2005. Significant mortality was
detected on 18 July. The information, available at 4 pm (GMT+3) 20 July,
suggests that more than 350 birds of different species (geese, ducks,
turkeys, chickens) died.
Some clinical signs invite the suspicion that the outbreak is caused by
highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI). But other details of the outbreak
are not typical of HPAI (no evident species specificity, and the pattern of
spread within a settlement). Pathological material was sent to the
reference centre of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary
Surveillance (FSVPS). Results of the laboratory diagnosis are expected on
23 Jul 2005.

Over 500 birds dead of bird flu in the Novosibirsk area

According to official data, more than 500 birds died in the Novosibirsk
region as result of an avian influenza outbreak. 300 birds died in the
[district] of Dovolenskiy [village of Suzdalka - Mod.NP], and 240 in the
Kupinskiy district. This was announced by the regional press service of the
Russian Emergency Situations Ministry on Fri 22 Jul 2005. No cases of the
disease have been found in the human population.
Alexander Shestopalov, the head of the zoonoses laboratory in the State
Scientific Center for Virology and Biotechnology "Vector," Novosibirsk,
confirmed to the Interfax agency that the flu virus involved in the
outbreak in avians is H5. "Further serotyping of the virus is expected
today Fri, 22 Jul 2005", he said.
It will be possible to say whether the European or Asian virus has caused
this outbreak of disease in birds after test results are in, he added.
Shestopalov further said that death was observed in domestic as well as
wild birds, indicating the high pathogenicity of the virus.
The affected settlements in the Novosibirsk region are within the zone of
Barabinsko-Kulundinskaya lowland, adjacent to a crossroad of bird migratory
routes.
According to Shestopalov, the risks of possible introduction of avian
influenza that might be pathogenic for poultry have never been excluded by
investigators. He explained that wild waterfowl serve as a natural
reservoir of the "type A" viruses, to which avian influenza belongs. On
average, the avian flu virus is detected in 6-10 per cent of tests, which
is within [expectable] levels.
According to Shestopalov, isolates of avian influenza viruses, typed as H1,
H3, H4 and H8, have been obtained in various years from samples taken from
birds. The monitoring of flu virus in migratory birds has been carried out
over the last 4 years by the State Scientific Center for Virology
"Vector"in collaboration with the Institute of systematization and animal
ecology of the Russian academy of sciences.

Fowl traders blame Malaysian eggs for bird flu outbreak

The Indonesian government has yet to find the source of the bird flu
outbreak in the country but suddenly, a fowl traders association is blaming
it on hatching eggs smuggled from Malaysia. The Federation of North Sumatra
Fowl Associations (Gapsu) claimed that the outbreak was caused by the
distribution of hatching eggs smuggled from Malaysia besides the entry of
chicken from areas already infected with the virus, like Java and Thailand.
"From 23 Aug 2004 the Indonesian government has banned the import of fowl
products from Malaysia but to date, their hatching eggs can still be found
in North Sumatra," said Gapsu secretary-general Djoko Sugiarto. He was
quoted by the Kompas daily in Medan today as saying that Gapsu had reported
the matter to the Veterinary Services Department in Medan, including about
hatching eggs from Malaysia used by a breeding company in North Sumatra.
The daily also quoted a local Veterinary Services Department officer as
saying that the bird flu outbreak in North Sumatra might have been caused
by a fighting cock smuggled from Thailand. "We have identified the owner of
the fighting cock and he has admitted to smuggling it from Thailand," he
said.
The Media Indonesia press, meanwhile, reported that 4 seaports in Batam,
namely Sekupang, Batuampar, Telaga Punggar and Pusat Batam, were placed
under strict surveillance to prevent the entry of items that could carry
the bird flu virus including chicken eggs and dressed chicken. In Jakarta,
Indonesian Health Minister Siti Fadilah Supari said the government had not
been able to determine the source of the bird flu virus which was suspected
to have claimed one life in Tangerang. She said the virus could have been
brought by migratory birds on their sojourn from the northern hemisphere to
Australia. Media Indonesia also reported that about 383 000 chickens had
died of bird flu in south Sulawesi since March 2005.
Muhammad Kafil, bird flu prevention coordinator with the South Sulawesi
Veterinary Services Department in Ujung Pandang, was quoted as saying that
the virus could have been spread through chicken excrement fertilizer which
was widely used by farmers.

Bird flu found in 21 Indonesian provinces: official

Bird flu outbreak has affected 21 out of 30 provinces in Indonesia with the
number of chickens killed by the virus totaling 9.53 million, a government
official said here on Thursday.
Bird flu cases have been found in at least 132 regencies and cities across
Indonesia, said Mathur Riyadi, director general of veterinary with the
Ministry of Agriculture. Further investigation also indicated preliminary
attack of bird flu in 4 other provinces, namely South Sulawesi, Jambi, East
Kalimantan and North Sumatra, he said on the sidelines of a hearing with
legislators at the parliament compound.
Earlier on Wednesday [20 Jul 2005], the Ministry of Health confirmed that 3
people in the same family in the town of Tangerang have died recently from
bird flu, becoming the country's first human deaths caused by the virus.

possible sources for introduction of AI into Indonesia -- hatching eggs
from Malaysia (a country that hasn't really reported AI), a smuggled

animals and their products, one should exercise caution when such
allegations are expressed by commercial sources. Nevertheless, these
allegations do fall in line with an earlier statement by the Indonesian

Indonesia to the OIE, sent on 27 Jun 2005, mentioned -- as "source of
outbreaks" -- introduction of new animals/animal products, as well as

| 'Bird Flu', SARS - Biowarfare or a Pandemic of Propaganda?
| Are we being stampeded into a pandemic? The announcement was made by Dr
Nancy Cox of the US Centers for Disease Control. According to an article in
The Scotsman, Cox says that a global epidemic of bird flu could dwarf
history's worst infection disaster, which killed between 20 and 40 million
people. The reference of course is to the "Spanish Flu" at the end of World
War I which, according to a BBC article of almost exactly one year ago,
experts say to have possibly been caused by "a bird virus jumping to
humans".

| The reasoning in the CDC statement goes on like this:
| The H5N1 influenza strain that has already killed 42 has a fatality rate
of 76 per cent, cases so far suggest. The virus which caused the 1918
pandemic killed only 1 per cent of those it infected.

| The association is tenuous at best and the reasoning sounds odd, but the
message is clear: "Prepare for the worst".
|
| It might be good to remind ourselves that H5N1 is very same bird virus
that was being "researched", meaning it was being actively changed and
cultured, when Liu Jianlun, a laboratory scientist in China's Guangdong
province became the first SARS victim two years ago - on 4 March 2003.
Another death of a scientist was later linked to a laboratory in Singapore.
The laboratory was culturing the same virus.

| The SARS "pandemic" eventually faded away, but not without leaving a deep
impression. A high pitched media campaign had convinced the world it was
facing a great threat when in reality SARS turned out to be a comparably
minor disease with 8.500 infected world wide and around 812 deaths. Compare
that to CDC figures of 36.000 flu related deaths yearly in the U.S. alone.
Or compare it with the mayhem of more than 100.000 U.S. deaths from the
damaging effects of pharmaceutical drugs in the same time span.
| "The researchers, from the influenza branch of the Centers for Disease
Control in Atlanta, will mate H5N1 and human flu viruses in a process known
as reassortment. Viable offspring will be tested in animals thought to be
good surrogates for humans, to see if the viruses can infect, can be
transmitted easily from infected animals to healthy ones and to note the
severity of disease each provokes. In other words, the CDC researchers will
be deliberately engineering viruses of pandemic potential. It's high-risk
but crucial work, the influenza community insists."
| This is what we read in an article published in Canada just last December,
which quotes experts explaining that such an admittedly high risk
undertaking is necessary to prevent a possible outbreak of a new pandemic. I
just cannot help but think of little children playing with matches in a wood
shed. The thought of it is enough to make one nervous.

| In Vietnam, about a week ago, annother pronouncement reported by (CBC
Canada): "We at WHO believe that the world is now in the gravest possible
danger of a pandemic," Dr. Shigeru Omi, head of the UN health agency's
Western Pacific office, warned a scientific conference in Ho Chi Minh City
on Wednesday. Public health officials fear the H5N1 form of the bird flu
virus, which has already passed from person to person twice, will get better
at spreading between humans and unleash changes for which the population has
no natural immunity.

| Thus, in a replay of the SARS scare, we again see government research on
how to make the virus jump the species barrier, and again we have dire
predictions of imminent disaster from the world's top health authorities.
|
| What are the solutions being readied for us? According to this article, we
are in good hands:
| Right now, 50 people representing drug companies, governments, and vaccine
licensing agencies are meeting in Geneva in a closed-door session to discuss
what can be done to prevent this next coming flu pandemic. The World Health
Organization has flatly stated there will not be enough vaccine to go
around. On their web site, they say, "production capacity for a pandemic
vaccine will be vastly inadequate unless other companies engage in vaccine
seed development and preparation of batches for clinical testing." The group
also stated that in the event of a pandemic, vaccine will be in short supply
and will likely be unequally distributed.
| The "solution" seems to be a vaccine, which is being readied in all haste
and behind closed doors, by those very people who are responsible, directly
or indirectly, for hundreds of thousands of deaths each year - the ones who
have given us a medical system that has been called genocidal in a criminal
complaint filed with the International Court of Justice in The Hague.

| Officially, there is no mention of good health being the first line of
defense. Not one of the high officials seems to think that 'beefing up' our
own defenses by good nutrition, rest and supplements is important, although
that would make eminent sense. With the dismal record of vaccines in
preventing any disease - they are actually immune suppressors - we should
very well look at these other options and perhaps we should make them the
primary line of defense against any hypothetical "pandemic" encroaching on
the people of the world.

| Since SARS was defeated not by a vaccine but by hygiene and by people
taking matters into their own hands, stocking up on vitamin C and other
immune-enhancing nutrients, would it not be better if we followed this
successful path?
|
| Why manufacture yet another "cash-cow" for the pharmaceutical companies
that contribute little to real health and immunity, when the record clearly
shows that vaccines are not the way to go? Health authorities the world over
seem hell bent on supporting their friends in the vaccine industry. A recent
example is the experimental meningococcal vaccine campaign for over a
million children in New Zealand at a cost of hundreds of millions of
dollars, promoted by the health authorities with shamelessly exaggerated
figures of disease incidence.

| In the U.S., despite a scare campaign in the media and available flu
vaccine doses drastically reduced because of contamination-related problems
for vaccine maker Chiron, one of only two U.S. flu vaccine suppliers, the
flu has failed so far to spiral out of control.
|
| Yet, according to recent press reports, anti viral drugs are being
"stockpiled to beat the deadly flu" and hundreds of Millions of Dollars are
"Needed to Control the Bird Flu".
|
| In the face of much evidence that food based nutrients "boost the immune
system" and supplements such as simple vitamin C have been found effective
in warding off SARS, it would seem that such strategies should be used
ubiquitously as a first line of defense.
|
| Instead, we see research into how to make the bird flu virus more deadly,
we see vaccine campaigns being prepared, we see anti-aids drugs making their
entree onto the stage as possible agents to "combat the bird flu".
|
| In the media stoked frenzy, we seem to conveniently forget to test
vaccines for safety. This introduces a scientific uncertainty. Will an
ensuing pandemic really be the fault of a "virus" or could it perhaps be
induced by the very vaccines that are touted as the solution. But business
is good, it seems - at least for now - for Big Pharma.

The machine translation of the above boxun report is cause for concern. The closing of the school in Jianyang suggests for human-to-human transmission is being considered. Jianyang is near some of the farms, which had dying pigs or sheep. The number of reported dead has now risen to 17 and the number of villages affected is up to 49. 58 patients have reported symptoms.
The bird deaths in Qinghai Lake raised concerns of H5N1 spreading. It is expanding its host range and has not previously been known to infect sheep. However, sheep were listed in the boxun report on birds and animals affected at Qinghai Lake.
Boxun has also reported details on 10 strains of H5N1, Seven of the ten have been reported in humans. Moreover, there are reports of dual infections which can generate new recombinants with novel pathologies. H5N1 is known to be neurotropic and cause internal bleeding. The internal bleeding was a common symptom associated with the 1918 pandemic. Because the virus produced so many unusual presentations, it was frequently mis-diagnosed as cholera, typhoid, and dengue fever, three frequent diagnosis in Asia.
One description from the 1918 pandemic sounded remarkably like the boxun description of the whole body becoming dark:

Although cases began arriving at local hospitals on June 24, there still is no diagnosis. The comment that the pigs were infected with bacteria is similar to initial pronouncements in Indonesia regarding the cluster of 3 H5N1 deaths, which were in a Tangerang, Jakarta suburb where H5N1 positive pigs had been previously reported. Additional H5N1 positive pigs were found upon retesting.
The large number of villages affected raises the possibility of transmission via migratory birds. There have been bird deaths in Russia and Guangdong recently, as well as new outbreaks in Vietnam and Thailand. The H5N1 at Qingahi Lake is particularly lethal and boxun reports indicate it can kill humans. The OIE reported by China listed 5 species affected, and that number has probably risen suggesting transmission could be widespread, especially as more bird leave Qinghai Lake for Europe, India, and eastern Asia.

7-24-5 Today (July 13), China officially claimed that bird flu in Qinghai is not H5N1, but a new type. "It is much more dangerous than H5N1", according to this official report released today.
In an unconfirmed news on May 25 2005, released by Boxun, it stated that the bird flu in Qinghai is a new form of virus rather than H5N1, "its symptom is slightly different from H5N1, but it can resist high temprature, faster to show symptoms and more likely to transfer".
In a series of reports (released but not unconfirmed by Boxun), it claimed to have people dead of this virus, but this claim has been denied by the government. (boxun.com)

Patricia doyle July 24, 2005 - TV Channel of Guangzhou city reported on July 22 (BJ time) that about 300 egrets were found dead in TianHu park.
The TV news showed dead birds on lake water, it did not say the reason. But one tourist said it might be caused by water pollution, when he was interviewed by reporter.
The news said that some sick birds have been captured by local residence, some dead birds are on the table as meals.
It seems that reporters and local residence are not aware of bird flu - this as a result of media control.
The person, who sent this information to Boxun News wrote: "obviously, that teacher and reporter on TV do not know the reason, they even guessed if it was caused by high temprature."

Jeff, I think the outbreak in China is something other than straight H5N1 bird flu. As I mentioned, it is different.
Man-tweaked. Maybe their Plum Island had power outage and loss of biosecurity. If dealing with an altered bird flu
- or worse, Ebola/flu - then we would see the high death toll that we are seeing. I think Dr. Niman knew all along that the Chinese bird flu samples would be different.
China had admitted using Amantadine yet, the bird flu was amantadine sensitive. I am sure that the Chinese bird flu is a new type. All of the Boxun News service reports claim various diseases, Ebola, an Ebola with up to 6 month incubation, FMD, Bird Flu etc etc. Whatever is happening centered in Qinghai - and is spreading.
The military involvement tells me that the Boxun reports were accurate.
They have chaos there now and I surely hope that our government will do something to prevent it from coming here. It won't be popular but we may have to really watch our borders for immigrating Chinese. Those who can leave China will...if the conditions are as reported. Some may head for North America.

As you read the following report it is obvious that Ebola has been genetically altered with different viruses which give us the various types of the new ebola strains. Obviously some of the viruses have been altered with HIV. It is quite possible that some Ebola genomes have been recombined with SARS and others with H5.
If the following report is accurate, and remember Boxun is reporting from inside China and the reporters have the advantage of inside information, it is obvious that China has been busy in their bioweapons research. We did have signs that a program was and is in effect when SARS escaped. There have been some very strange outbreaks of H5N1 which did add to speculation that China has been engaged in bioweapons' research.
While we are all focused on Iraq's WMD we have lost sight of more pressing threats, such as China's weapons' research.
Will the Bush Administration investigate these reports AFTER Ebolaflu or Influenzebola breaks out in North America? While the administration chases ghosts and nonexistant WMD in Iraq China might just be boiling up an Ebola soup that will kill many of us.

1. EB-SZ type: It was found in Shenzhen of South China. People contracted the virus showing severe illness, and they were infected through the contact of blood. Incubation period is 2-4 weeks. Some individual cases have incubation period up to 6 months. Some cases are asymptomatic. Those infected people's immunity drops suddenly that triggers other co-infections and complications. When non-Ebola virus related infections become severe, it could lead to diathesis from the major blood vessels. In severe cases, blood vessels disintegrate; muscular tissues became fluid-like; patients died of lack of oxygen due to haemorrhage. After the case die, the disintegration symptoms persist with the change of room temperature, ie above 12.4 degree Celcius. The process continues until the carcass completely disintegrates. The disintegration process slows down when temperature is lower than 8.7 degree Celcius; and the process halts at below 4 degree Celcius. Therefore, the best treatment for infected person is to use low temperature therapy. To treat the deceased cases, it is better to seal the body under low temperature. To disinfect the environment where the cases die has to use both high temperature disinfection and low temperature disinfection with the assistance of potent medication.
2. EB-ST type: It was found in Shantou of South China. People contracted the virus showing severe illness.
Transmission is unknown. Incubation period: 30-120 days. Infected people have localized maculopapular rash.
Cases occur in the form of diathesis in the smallest capillaries that lead to necrosis of the involved tissues. The characteristic of this virus is its intermittent exacerbation of the symptoms. This virus is suspected to be the mutated by-product of Ebola virus and other viruses. The confirmative diagnosis is usually made by the identification of EB-SZ-like virus in the tissues of deceased cases.
3. EB-HN type: It was found in Hunan of Central China. Transmission is unknown. Incubation is about 30-60 days.
Infected cases experience discomfort due to the localized diathesis. After the disintegration of blood vessels, patients experience symptoms related to blood loss. Most of the deceased cases' heavily infected organs were in their lungs. If the blood vessels of the internal organs were infected, it will cause hepatic damage. Deceased case's face and bottom will disintegrate within 2-8 hours afterwards; their nails also fall apart. Autopsy found that the tissues of tendons were as soft as muscle. The deceased cases' blood are contagious. Contact through other means will not lead to infection of the virus.
4. EB-FJ type: It was found in Fujian province of South China. The virus was transmitted through the carrier's blood. Incubation period is about 20-30 days. Infected people will become immunocompromised that leads to influenza induced pneumonia and bleeding in the lungs. Subsequently, it leads to respiratory failure. Autopsy found that the vessels in the deceased cases' lung were fluid like; other tissues were normal. Deceased cases displayed purplish spots in their necks.
5. EB-ZJ type: It was found in Zhanjian of South China. Not much details on this virus subtype.
6. EB-SZ77 type: It was found in Shenzhen of South China (adjacent to Hong Kong). This virus could infect birds.
The above human translation of a boxun report raises serious questions about Ebola infections in China. It has not been independently confirmed and Ebola has not been reported outside of Africa. The above report offers no genetic details on the relationship between the above isolates and the various sequenced Ebola and Marburg isolates.
The boxun reports on H5N1 bird flu strains appear to be quite believable and are supported by China's refusal to allow WHO visit the recent sites of H5N1 infections in Xinjiang province as well as the refusal to share sequence data on isolates from the latest outbreak.
Other boxun documents indicate details of H5N1 and Ebola infections are considered state secrets, which clearly if true, is cause for concerns. China's recent actions of limiting access and distribution of strains and sequences increases the credibility of the boxun reports.

Why Ebola Recombinent?

7-20-5 Hello Jeff - I had to wonder why the advantage would be to the combination of Ebola with HIV. Ebola usually dies out rather quickly. It is easy to spot and easy to trace contacts due to the speedy incubation time. It also dies out in the environment, as some of the tribes' people stated, "Ebola comes like waves from the jungle." In other words, it is like a tide and comes in, kills and goes out thus ending the outbreak. If we have Ebolaids, we would have long incubation periods of up to 6 months thus making the tracing of contacts harder and enabling the virus to spread beyond tribal villages. People would have plenty of time for international travel thus spreading the virus throughout the world before it would be recognized. Naturally occurring Ebola usually stays in the community of outbreak with some scattered outbreaks in neighboring communities.
An Ebola combined with HIV would ensure death and make the virus more lethal. The HIV would do its job of breaking down the immune system making the body more vulnerable to Ebola.
Ebolaids would not be a good weapon, however, UNLESS the weaponeer had a vaccine or treatment to counteract the virus when it bounces back on the weaponeers' country.
Ebola/H5N1 would also be an insane weapon to release unless there had been a vaccine that would work at protecting the weapon's user from illness.
It is really so difficult to rationize the construction of the altered Ebola pathogen. Was SARS actually part of thie bioweapon's research? I always thought that SARS had escaped from the first military medical university in Guangdong Province. Perhaps, SARS was not the intended weapon but only part of a recombinent Ebola/Sars?
I am wondering if the deaths in and around Quinghai were actually Ebola/H5N1 or combination of ebola. This may explain WHY the Chinese are refusing to allow the WHO or any agency from taking samples. The Chinese had refused to allow ANY research on samples from suspected H5 victims or even animal samples. Even some scientists inside China were not permitted to study samples or investigate H5 research. The claim that Ebola strains are found in China explains the secrecy. All of a sudden a bright 100 wt light has been turned on for me.

In just TWO days, there have been 3 postings from ProMED, of what seems to
be the start of an epidemic. You may wish to start tincturing Plague herbs
for this... as it will be hopping the " big pond" probably sooner than we'd
like. This is very important. We may wish to instigate a technical
discussion on the symptoms of this, and which herbs, homeopathics, &
frequencies historically & current technology worked for the last Plague and
which ones may be helpful in this new one....
In China, things are really heating up. It's best to be prepared just in
case.
While I know that the Vaccine companies are just chomping at the bit to sell
their vaccines, typically theirs are not applicable for the year they are
selling them, and the vaccines typically "give" the malady instead of
protect against it. This is really a problem. If we look at the symptoms,
we may be able to look at what treats the symptoms in a variety of methods.
Several years ago, there was another homeopathic list, and I "think" Eileen? used to post symptoms of certain upcoming plagues that are routinely posted for worldwide plagues that are breaking out, and the homeopathic list would group together and post remedies that would best fit the sympomology picture. In this way, finding a remedy is not so personal. It's easier to be objective when one is dealing with just generic symptoms, and when not under the gun, it's easier to think!
I'm thinking for reading the following government posts on these outbreaks that we need to possibly find something somewhere in the middle of a pulmonary influenza and an ebola type plague.... I don't know that any ONE remedy can meet this challange, as this is probably a genetically altered pathogen, (not found in nature), but we can try.

Indonesia: avian influenza situation - WHO update 25

The Ministry of Health in Indonesia reported that a 38 year old father who
died on 12 Jul 2005 was the country's 1st laboratory-confirmed H5N1
positive human case of avian influenza. His 2 daughters also died of severe
pneumonia illness compatible with H5N1 infection, but laboratory
confirmation is not yet available. Limited samples were available from the
8 year old daughter who died on 14 Jul 2005, and the 1 year old daughter
who died on 9 Jul 2005.
The 8 year old became ill with fever, diarrhoea, then cough, on 24 Jun
2005. She was brought to Siloam Gleneagles Hospital, Tangerang, on 28 Jun,
where she died with respiratory distress 20 days after onset. The 1 year
old became ill on 29 Jun 2005 with fever, diarrhoea, then cough, finally
respiratory distress, and died 10 days after onset. The father became ill
on 2 Jul with fever, mild cold, then cough and was taken to the same
hospital on 7 Jul where he died 10 days after onset. Samples from the man
tested positive for avian influenza H5N1 virus by the WHO H5 reference
laboratories at the Department of Microbiology, University of Hong Kong,
and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta USA. Samples
from the 2 children are being tested.
The remaining 4 residents of the house (2 members of the family and 2
household workers) remain healthy and show no symptoms to date. The
Ministry of Health is closely following over 300 contacts, including health
care workers, family members, school and office colleagues and neighbours.
None of these contacts has shown any symptoms to date.
An investigation is currently underway with team members from Indonesia's
Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture, United States Naval Medical
Research Unit 2, and WHO to identify potential sources of the infection.
Serum samples have been collected from contacts of the cases, starting from
the family and neighbours, health-care workers, while any possible poultry
contact is being investigated (such as market sellers, retail food outlets,
pet birds). Environmental and veterinary sampling is being carried out by
the Ministry of Agriculture.
Health education to hospital and other health care workers has been
continuing since January 2004, when avian influenza was first reported in
Indonesia. The Ministry of Health, working with WHO, has carried out
seminars and workshops to strengthen surveillance of influenza-like
illness, outbreak investigation, and appropriate isolation and barrier
nursing. Stockpiling of personal protective equipment to protect health and
veterinary workers, and procurement of antivirals for treatment and
prophylaxis, as appropriate, is continuing. Information has been provided
to assist the community with general health precautions, including frequent
handwashing, avoiding contact with sick animals, and safe and hygienic
handling and cooking of poultry.

Suspect avian disease in Russia

Nepoklonov, head of the Main Veterinary Department, Ministry of Agriculture
and Food, Moscow:
A poultry disease was registered in 5 villages in the Novosibirsk district
(in the southern part of the country), among birds in non-commercial
premises of open type.
The first signs were found on 15 Jul 2005. Significant mortality was
detected on 18 July. The information, available at 4 pm (GMT+3) 20 July,
suggests that more than 350 birds of different species (geese, ducks,
turkeys, chickens) died.
Some clinical signs invite the suspicion that the outbreak is caused by
highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI). But other details of the outbreak
are not typical of HPAI (no evident species specificity, and the pattern of
spread within a settlement). Pathological material was sent to the
reference centre of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary
Surveillance (FSVPS). Results of the laboratory diagnosis are expected on
23 Jul 2005.

Over 500 birds dead of bird flu in the Novosibirsk area

According to official data, more than 500 birds died in the Novosibirsk
region as result of an avian influenza outbreak. 300 birds died in the
[district] of Dovolenskiy [village of Suzdalka - Mod.NP], and 240 in the
Kupinskiy district. This was announced by the regional press service of the
Russian Emergency Situations Ministry on Fri 22 Jul 2005. No cases of the
disease have been found in the human population.
Alexander Shestopalov, the head of the zoonoses laboratory in the State
Scientific Center for Virology and Biotechnology "Vector," Novosibirsk,
confirmed to the Interfax agency that the flu virus involved in the
outbreak in avians is H5. "Further serotyping of the virus is expected
today Fri, 22 Jul 2005", he said.
It will be possible to say whether the European or Asian virus has caused
this outbreak of disease in birds after test results are in, he added.
Shestopalov further said that death was observed in domestic as well as
wild birds, indicating the high pathogenicity of the virus.
The affected settlements in the Novosibirsk region are within the zone of
Barabinsko-Kulundinskaya lowland, adjacent to a crossroad of bird migratory
routes.
According to Shestopalov, the risks of possible introduction of avian
influenza that might be pathogenic for poultry have never been excluded by
investigators. He explained that wild waterfowl serve as a natural
reservoir of the "type A" viruses, to which avian influenza belongs. On
average, the avian flu virus is detected in 6-10 per cent of tests, which
is within [expectable] levels.
According to Shestopalov, isolates of avian influenza viruses, typed as H1,
H3, H4 and H8, have been obtained in various years from samples taken from
birds. The monitoring of flu virus in migratory birds has been carried out
over the last 4 years by the State Scientific Center for Virology
"Vector"in collaboration with the Institute of systematization and animal
ecology of the Russian academy of sciences.

Fowl traders blame Malaysian eggs for bird flu outbreak

The Indonesian government has yet to find the source of the bird flu
outbreak in the country but suddenly, a fowl traders association is blaming
it on hatching eggs smuggled from Malaysia. The Federation of North Sumatra
Fowl Associations (Gapsu) claimed that the outbreak was caused by the
distribution of hatching eggs smuggled from Malaysia besides the entry of
chicken from areas already infected with the virus, like Java and Thailand.
"From 23 Aug 2004 the Indonesian government has banned the import of fowl
products from Malaysia but to date, their hatching eggs can still be found
in North Sumatra," said Gapsu secretary-general Djoko Sugiarto. He was
quoted by the Kompas daily in Medan today as saying that Gapsu had reported
the matter to the Veterinary Services Department in Medan, including about
hatching eggs from Malaysia used by a breeding company in North Sumatra.
The daily also quoted a local Veterinary Services Department officer as
saying that the bird flu outbreak in North Sumatra might have been caused
by a fighting cock smuggled from Thailand. "We have identified the owner of
the fighting cock and he has admitted to smuggling it from Thailand," he
said.
The Media Indonesia press, meanwhile, reported that 4 seaports in Batam,
namely Sekupang, Batuampar, Telaga Punggar and Pusat Batam, were placed
under strict surveillance to prevent the entry of items that could carry
the bird flu virus including chicken eggs and dressed chicken. In Jakarta,
Indonesian Health Minister Siti Fadilah Supari said the government had not
been able to determine the source of the bird flu virus which was suspected
to have claimed one life in Tangerang. She said the virus could have been
brought by migratory birds on their sojourn from the northern hemisphere to
Australia. Media Indonesia also reported that about 383 000 chickens had
died of bird flu in south Sulawesi since March 2005.
Muhammad Kafil, bird flu prevention coordinator with the South Sulawesi
Veterinary Services Department in Ujung Pandang, was quoted as saying that
the virus could have been spread through chicken excrement fertilizer which
was widely used by farmers.

Bird flu outbreak has affected 21 out of 30 provinces in Indonesia with the
number of chickens killed by the virus totaling 9.53 million, a government
official said here on Thursday.
Bird flu cases have been found in at least 132 regencies and cities across
Indonesia, said Mathur Riyadi, director general of veterinary with the
Ministry of Agriculture. Further investigation also indicated preliminary
attack of bird flu in 4 other provinces, namely South Sulawesi, Jambi, East
Kalimantan and North Sumatra, he said on the sidelines of a hearing with
legislators at the parliament compound.
Earlier on Wednesday [20 Jul 2005], the Ministry of Health confirmed that 3
people in the same family in the town of Tangerang have died recently from
bird flu, becoming the country's first human deaths caused by the virus.

| 'Bird Flu', SARS - Biowarfare or a Pandemic of Propaganda?
| Are we being stampeded into a pandemic? The announcement was made by Dr
Nancy Cox of the US Centers for Disease Control. According to an article in
The Scotsman, Cox says that a global epidemic of bird flu could dwarf
history's worst infection disaster, which killed between 20 and 40 million
people. The reference of course is to the "Spanish Flu" at the end of World
War I which, according to a BBC article of almost exactly one year ago,
experts say to have possibly been caused by "a bird virus jumping to
humans".

| The reasoning in the CDC statement goes on like this:
| The H5N1 influenza strain that has already killed 42 has a fatality rate
of 76 per cent, cases so far suggest. The virus which caused the 1918
pandemic killed only 1 per cent of those it infected.

| The association is tenuous at best and the reasoning sounds odd, but the
message is clear: "Prepare for the worst".

| It might be good to remind ourselves that H5N1 is very same bird virus
that was being "researched", meaning it was being actively changed and
cultured, when Liu Jianlun, a laboratory scientist in China's Guangdong
province became the first SARS victim two years ago - on 4 March 2003.
Another death of a scientist was later linked to a laboratory in Singapore.
The laboratory was culturing the same virus.

| The SARS "pandemic" eventually faded away, but not without leaving a deep
impression. A high pitched media campaign had convinced the world it was
facing a great threat when in reality SARS turned out to be a comparably
minor disease with 8.500 infected world wide and around 812 deaths. Compare
that to CDC figures of 36.000 flu related deaths yearly in the U.S. alone.
Or compare it with the mayhem of more than 100.000 U.S. deaths from the
damaging effects of pharmaceutical drugs in the same time span.

| This is what we read in an article published in Canada just last December,
which quotes experts explaining that such an admittedly high risk
undertaking is necessary to prevent a possible outbreak of a new pandemic. I
just cannot help but think of little children playing with matches in a wood
shed. The thought of it is enough to make one nervous.

| In Vietnam, about a week ago, annother pronouncement reported by (CBC
Canada): "We at WHO believe that the world is now in the gravest possible
danger of a pandemic," Dr. Shigeru Omi, head of the UN health agency's
Western Pacific office, warned a scientific conference in Ho Chi Minh City
on Wednesday. Public health officials fear the H5N1 form of the bird flu
virus, which has already passed from person to person twice, will get better
at spreading between humans and unleash changes for which the population has
no natural immunity.

| Thus, in a replay of the SARS scare, we again see government research on
how to make the virus jump the species barrier, and again we have dire
predictions of imminent disaster from the world's top health authorities.

| What are the solutions being readied for us? According to this article, we
are in good hands:
| Right now, 50 people representing drug companies, governments, and vaccine
licensing agencies are meeting in Geneva in a closed-door session to discuss
what can be done to prevent this next coming flu pandemic. The World Health
Organization has flatly stated there will not be enough vaccine to go
around. On their web site, they say, "production capacity for a pandemic
vaccine will be vastly inadequate unless other companies engage in vaccine
seed development and preparation of batches for clinical testing." The group
also stated that in the event of a pandemic, vaccine will be in short supply
and will likely be unequally distributed.
| The "solution" seems to be a vaccine, which is being readied in all haste
and behind closed doors, by those very people who are responsible, directly
or indirectly, for hundreds of thousands of deaths each year - the ones who
have given us a medical system that has been called genocidal in a criminal
complaint filed with the International Court of Justice in The Hague.

| Officially, there is no mention of good health being the first line of
defense. Not one of the high officials seems to think that 'beefing up' our
own defenses by good nutrition, rest and supplements is important, although
that would make eminent sense. With the dismal record of vaccines in
preventing any disease - they are actually immune suppressors - we should
very well look at these other options and perhaps we should make them the
primary line of defense against any hypothetical "pandemic" encroaching on
the people of the world.

| Since SARS was defeated not by a vaccine but by hygiene and by people
taking matters into their own hands, stocking up on vitamin C and other
immune-enhancing nutrients, would it not be better if we followed this
successful path?

| Why manufacture yet another "cash-cow" for the pharmaceutical companies
that contribute little to real health and immunity, when the record clearly
shows that vaccines are not the way to go? Health authorities the world over
seem hell bent on supporting their friends in the vaccine industry. A recent
example is the experimental meningococcal vaccine campaign for over a
million children in New Zealand at a cost of hundreds of millions of
dollars, promoted by the health authorities with shamelessly exaggerated
figures of disease incidence.

| In the U.S., despite a scare campaign in the media and available flu
vaccine doses drastically reduced because of contamination-related problems
for vaccine maker Chiron, one of only two U.S. flu vaccine suppliers, the
flu has failed so far to spiral out of control.

| Yet, according to recent press reports, anti viral drugs are being
"stockpiled to beat the deadly flu" and hundreds of Millions of Dollars are
"Needed to Control the Bird Flu".

| In the face of much evidence that food based nutrients "boost the immune
system" and supplements such as simple vitamin C have been found effective
in warding off SARS, it would seem that such strategies should be used
ubiquitously as a first line of defense.

| Instead, we see research into how to make the bird flu virus more deadly,
we see vaccine campaigns being prepared, we see anti-aids drugs making their
entree onto the stage as possible agents to "combat the bird flu".
|
| In the media stoked frenzy, we seem to conveniently forget to test
vaccines for safety. This introduces a scientific uncertainty. Will an
ensuing pandemic really be the fault of a "virus" or could it perhaps be
induced by the very vaccines that are touted as the solution. But business
is good, it seems - at least for now - for Big Pharma.

The machine translation of the above boxun report is cause for concern. The closing of the school in Jianyang suggests for human-to-human transmission is being considered. Jianyang is near some of the farms, which had dying pigs or sheep. The number of reported dead has now risen to 17 and the number of villages affected is up to 49. 58 patients have reported symptoms.
The bird deaths in Qinghai Lake raised concerns of H5N1 spreading. It is expanding its host range and has not previously been known to infect sheep. However, sheep were listed in the boxun report on birds and animals affected at Qinghai Lake.
Boxun has also reported details on 10 strains of H5N1, Seven of the ten have been reported in humans. Moreover, there are reports of dual infections which can generate new recombinants with novel pathologies. H5N1 is known to be neurotropic and cause internal bleeding. The internal bleeding was a common symptom associated with the 1918 pandemic. Because the virus produced so many unusual presentations, it was frequently mis-diagnosed as cholera, typhoid, and dengue fever, three frequent diagnosis in Asia.
One description from the 1918 pandemic sounded remarkably like the boxun description of the whole body becoming dark:

There have been bird deaths in Russia and Guangdong recently, as well as new outbreaks in Vietnam and Thailand. The H5N1 at Qingahi Lake is particularly lethal and boxun reports indicate it can kill humans. The OIE reported by China listed 5 species affected, and that number has probably risen suggesting transmission could be widespread, especially as more bird leave Qinghai Lake for Europe, India, and eastern Asia.

7-24-5 Today (July 13), China officially claimed that bird flu in Qinghai is not H5N1, but a new type. "It is much more dangerous than H5N1", according to this official report released today.
In an unconfirmed news on May 25 2005, released by Boxun, it stated that the bird flu in Qinghai is a new form of virus rather than H5N1, "its symptom is slightly different from H5N1, but it can resist high temprature, faster to show symptoms and more likely to transfer".
In a series of reports (released but not unconfirmed by Boxun), it claimed to have people dead of this virus, but this claim has been denied by the government. (boxun.com)

Patricia doyle July 24, 2005 - TV Channel of Guangzhou city reported on July 22 (BJ time) that about 300 egrets were found dead in TianHu park.
The TV news showed dead birds on lake water, it did not say the reason. But one tourist said it might be caused by water pollution, when he was interviewed by reporter.
The news said that some sick birds have been captured by local residence, some dead birds are on the table as meals.
It seems that reporters and local residence are not aware of bird flu - this as a result of media control.
The person, who sent this information to Boxun News wrote: "obviously, that teacher and reporter on TV do not know the reason, they even guessed if it was caused by high temprature."

Jeff, I think the outbreak in China is something other than straight H5N1 bird flu. As I mentioned, it is different.
Man-tweaked. Maybe their Plum Island had power outage and loss of biosecurity. If dealing with an altered bird flu
- or worse, Ebola/flu - then we would see the high death toll that we are seeing. I think Dr. Niman knew all along that the Chinese bird flu samples would be different.
China had admitted using Amantadine yet, the bird flu was amantadine sensitive. I am sure that the Chinese bird flu is a new type. All of the Boxun News service reports claim various diseases, Ebola, an Ebola with up to 6 month incubation, FMD, Bird Flu etc etc. Whatever is happening centered in Qinghai - and is spreading.
The military involvement tells me that the Boxun reports were accurate.
They have chaos there now and I surely hope that our government will do something to prevent it from coming here. It won't be popular but we may have to really watch our borders for immigrating Chinese. Those who can leave China will...if the conditions are as reported. Some may head for North America.

As you read the following report it is obvious that Ebola has been genetically altered with different viruses which give us the various types of the new ebola strains. Obviously some of the viruses have been altered with HIV. It is quite possible that some Ebola genomes have been recombined with SARS and others with H5.
If the following report is accurate, and remember Boxun is reporting from inside China and the reporters have the advantage of inside information, it is obvious that China has been busy in their bioweapons research. We did have signs that a program was and is in effect when SARS escaped. There have been some very strange outbreaks of H5N1 which did add to speculation that China has been engaged in bioweapons' research.
While we are all focused on Iraq's WMD we have lost sight of more pressing threats, such as China's weapons' research.
Will the Bush Administration investigate these reports AFTER Ebolaflu or Influenzebola breaks out in North America? While the administration chases ghosts and nonexistant WMD in Iraq China might just be boiling up an Ebola soup that will kill many of us.

1. EB-SZ type: It was found in Shenzhen of South China. People contracted the virus showing severe illness, and they were infected through the contact of blood. Incubation period is 2-4 weeks. Some individual cases have incubation period up to 6 months. Some cases are asymptomatic. Those infected people's immunity drops suddenly that triggers other co-infections and complications. When non-Ebola virus related infections become severe, it could lead to diathesis from the major blood vessels. In severe cases, blood vessels disintegrate; muscular tissues became fluid-like; patients died of lack of oxygen due to haemorrhage. After the case die, the disintegration symptoms persist with the change of room temperature, ie above 12.4 degree Celcius. The process continues until the carcass completely disintegrates. The disintegration process slows down when temperature is lower than 8.7 degree Celcius; and the process halts at below 4 degree Celcius. Therefore, the best treatment for infected person is to use low temperature therapy. To treat the deceased cases, it is better to seal the body under low temperature. To disinfect the environment where the cases die has to use both high temperature disinfection and low temperature disinfection with the assistance of potent medication.

Transmission is unknown. Incubation period: 30-120 days. Infected people have localized maculopapular rash.
Cases occur in the form of diathesis in the smallest capillaries that lead to necrosis of the involved tissues. The characteristic of this virus is its intermittent exacerbation of the symptoms. This virus is suspected to be the mutated by-product of Ebola virus and other viruses. The confirmative diagnosis is usually made by the identification of EB-SZ-like virus in the tissues of deceased cases.
3. EB-HN type: It was found in Hunan of Central China. Transmission is unknown. Incubation is about 30-60 days.
Infected cases experience discomfort due to the localized diathesis. After the disintegration of blood vessels, patients experience symptoms related to blood loss. Most of the deceased cases' heavily infected organs were in their lungs. If the blood vessels of the internal organs were infected, it will cause hepatic damage. Deceased case's face and bottom will disintegrate within 2-8 hours afterwards; their nails also fall apart. Autopsy found that the tissues of tendons were as soft as muscle. The deceased cases' blood are contagious. Contact through other means will not lead to infection of the virus.
4. EB-FJ type: It was found in Fujian province of South China. The virus was transmitted through the carrier's blood. Incubation period is about 20-30 days. Infected people will become immunocompromised that leads to influenza induced pneumonia and bleeding in the lungs. Subsequently, it leads to respiratory failure. Autopsy found that the vessels in the deceased cases' lung were fluid like; other tissues were normal. Deceased cases displayed purplish spots in their necks.
5. EB-ZJ type: It was found in Zhanjian of South China. Not much details on this virus subtype.
6. EB-SZ77 type: It was found in Shenzhen of South China (adjacent to Hong Kong). This virus could infect birds.
The above human translation of a boxun report raises serious questions about Ebola infections in China. It has not been independently confirmed and Ebola has not been reported outside of Africa. The above report offers no genetic details on the relationship between the above isolates and the various sequenced Ebola and Marburg isolates.
The boxun reports on H5N1 bird flu strains appear to be quite believable and are supported by China's refusal to allow WHO visit the recent sites of H5N1 infections in Xinjiang province as well as the refusal to share sequence data on isolates from the latest outbreak.
Other boxun documents indicate details of H5N1 and Ebola infections are considered state secrets, which clearly if true, is cause for concerns. China's recent actions of limiting access and distribution of strains and sequences increases the credibility of the boxun reports.
Moreover, H5N1 and Ebola have a region of sequence identity between HA and spike genes.

Why Ebola Recombinent?

7-20-5 Hello Jeff - I had to wonder why the advantage would be to the combination of Ebola with HIV. Ebola usually dies out rather quickly. It is easy to spot and easy to trace contacts due to the speedy incubation time. It also dies out in the environment, as some of the tribes' people stated, "Ebola comes like waves from the jungle." In other words, it is like a tide and comes in, kills and goes out thus ending the outbreak. If we have Ebolaids, we would have long incubation periods of up to 6 months thus making the tracing of contacts harder and enabling the virus to spread beyond tribal villages. People would have plenty of time for international travel thus spreading the virus throughout the world before it would be recognized. Naturally occurring Ebola usually stays in the community of outbreak with some scattered outbreaks in neighboring communities.
An Ebola combined with HIV would ensure death and make the virus more lethal. The HIV would do its job of breaking down the immune system making the body more vulnerable to Ebola.
Ebolaids would not be a good weapon, however, UNLESS the weaponeer had a vaccine or treatment to counteract the virus when it bounces back on the weaponeers' country.
Ebola/H5N1 would also be an insane weapon to release unless there had been a vaccine that would work at protecting the weapon's user from illness.
It is really so difficult to rationize the construction of the altered Ebola pathogen. Was SARS actually part of thie bioweapon's research? I always thought that SARS had escaped from the first military medical university in Guangdong Province. Perhaps, SARS was not the intended weapon but only part of a recombinent Ebola/Sars?
I am wondering if the deaths in and around Quinghai were actually Ebola/H5N1 or combination of ebola. This may explain WHY the Chinese are refusing to allow the WHO or any agency from taking samples. The Chinese had refused to allow ANY research on samples from suspected H5 victims or even animal samples. Even some scientists inside China were not permitted to study samples or investigate H5 research. The claim that Ebola strains are found in China explains the secrecy. All of a sudden a bright 100 wt light has been turned on for me.
