This morning I was told by someone who is being treated by a
homeopath who claims to be close to Rajan that he is using
combination remedies eg Bell and Stram mixed, Med and Thuja
mixed. I find this hard to believe but if it is the case the effect will
be interesting to observe as hundreds of dogmatic 'thats not
homeopathy' types readjust their views.

There are a number of possibilities:
1- This is a rumour put about by those who wish to shake our resolve.
2- That the Rajan mentioned is not SANKARAN
3- If it is the well known Rajan Sankaran, that he has taken leave of his
senses.
Others may add to this list.

The corner stone of homoeopathy is SYMPTOM SIMILARITY.

As such our aim is to find THE Similimum which by definition is one. Two
remedy combinations have not be proved so their selection cannot be on the
basis of HOMOEOPATHY. If they were proved, as I mentioned before, they would
become a SINGLE remedy and not a combo!

I would be surprised if some one of Rajan Sankaran's calibre would not be
able to differentiate between a Bell and Stram.

And why do you call our view that only single remedies should be prescribed
as DOGMATIC?

Also as you may know, one of the most important prescriptions, is the second
prescription.
So if the remedy has acted, was it the bell or the stram part that acted?
How does one follow bell/stram? With more Bell/Stram or with something else?

I suspect the practitioner is name dropping and trying to make
her own methods seem OK to the patient. She trained in South
Africa where multiple remedies and multiple doses is
commonplace and they consider that what they do "is
homeopathy". They get results too believe it or not.

Because I think we should be open minded enough that we
allow for all sorts of possibilties rather than shutting our minds
to things we cant tolerate because of philosophical
considerations. Its not so difficult to imagine that 2 remedies
combined maintain their integrity and we give enough wrong
remedies anyway that giving one wrong remedy in a mixture of 2
isnt that awful is it? Im not saying any of this is true and am not
proposing we mix remedies but hey, who knows, and why do we
have to be so DOGMATIALLY opposed to such a possibilty. Other
than beause it is written somewhere that it is a bad thing to do. if
you believe that everything in our old books is true and infallible
then we have had very different experience of homeopathy.

Is there some reason you could/would not want to **first** establish the
veracity of these claims **yourself** with Rajan Sankaran before spreading
potentially malicious gossip? This is a basic academic requirement which is
adhered to in any qualified area of research and is also respected on this
List. Your own assertion that "I cant be bothered to be honest! " does not
bode well for your own credibility and/or ulterior motives. In the event
that you have a greater investment in being the "cat amongst the pigeons"
rather than providing true groundbreaking news on behalf of Rajan Sankaran
himself, we shall duly await your very own confirmed announcements with
great anticipation and *first-hand quotes in context*. And then, as a
community, we shall deal with them accordingly.

Might it not be more productive if the arguement over whether combos
are to be damned or condoned etc and whether single Rx prescriptions
are the only permissable IN PRACTICE - could be changed to the
question of DEFINITION of terms (rather than forms of practice)
i.e. can we call such and such "homeopathy"?

The arguements over what people actually DO is SO BORING!
People will do what they do and having a go at them will make no
difference; on either side of the camp.

anything to do with Rajan? And so COmbo's have to become acceptable?!
Wow - its like anything is possible if one can make haphazard connections!
