Here is a description of the Vital Quest program for those interested.
Firstly, here is the link to the site:
http://www.vitalquest.com/vquest/vquest.html
On this site there is a brochure you can download which explains what is in
the program.
However, a summary from my perspective is as follows:
The program is NOT a repertory program, it is a CASETAKING program. This
is very important to realise as you could be disappointed if purchasing and
this is not clear.
It comes with a library --- including Allens, Hering, Clarke, Kent and
Lippe, Boger, Boeeninghausen -- as well as authors such as Shah, Schadde,
Norland, Herrick, Rowe and others, plus Links International volumes to 2002.
There is also a Database with notes that is extensive.
Included are all Sankaran's books and his fathers book Elements of Hom.
The program is designed for typing the case in as you take it (even though
it can be done later), and it automatically selects words of importance that
have miasmatic, or kingdom relevance, and places them in a separate area for
later analysis. Either before proceeding to the analysis, or during, it is
necessary to categorise the words chosen, using Sankaran's 7 levels.
Once this is done, and all aspects have been put through the steps in the
program, the end result is a graphical representation of the kindoms, with
their percentages showing which has more weight based on what you have
input. You can then further analyse, and can see suggestions for the eg.,
plant families that are for consideration and further breakdown.
The library can be referred to throughout --- and there is a reasonable
search engine.
There are some other nifty features built in, which I have discovered which
enables you to find which miasm and kingdom certain keywords are
representative of based on Sankaran's classifications.
The program also comes with CDvideo tutorials, that are live recordings of
Sankaran in Goa. These are very very helpful to grasp the concepts.
This program has, as I mentioned, forced me to learn the levels eg., name,
fact, Feeling, Delusion ,Sensation, Energy and Consciousness.
The program is not useful unless you can place your words into these levels
for analysis.
They don't seem to want to sell the program to anyone who has not done one
of Sankaran's or his Colleague's courses on the method.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------
Jeremy Sherr has created a similar but more extensive case-taking program,
which is available for viewing on the Whole Health Now site. I recommend you
check it out. You need flash installed to view it. This program connects up
to Radar which is nifty, as Radar connects up to EH. So, using one of these
types of programs allows you to access all the info needed. And it seems to
help you with your casetaking methodolgy if that is what is needed.
Jeremy's program is more generally applicable than Sankarans, which is
specifically geared to Sankaran's system.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------
I think it is quite possible to do Sankaran's system without the program,
but that requires to gather all the relevant information together in a
reasonably ordered fashion, in order to find the same outcome info.
I had done this prior to buying the program, but am still glad I have this
as it has made all my notes more worthwhile due to the inadvertent training
being able to use the program offers.
Hope this satisfies the queries.
Best
Robyn
