chronic swelling of throat

Dear all,
Does this description sound like anything you've ever heard of?
For some months now, I've had periodic swelling of the back of my throat
-- the wall you can see when you say ah. NOT tonsils, NO pain, NO
impediment to swallowing, just swelling that comes (I can feel it and see it) and goes
(it still looks bad but I don't feel it).
The swelling happens in three vertical lines that are red and mottled
and glossy.
There seems to be no particular trigger. Often, when I'm eating, the
swollen feeling disappears and reappears later in a quiet moment.
I also have a kind of soft sandy bumpiness on my soft palate, and the
palate and uvula are veiny-looking. Again, no pain.
No swelling of the lymph nodes.
I also have liver problems, digestive problems, my tongue burns, and my
bowels are greenish and pretty frequent and kind of thin. This has happened
to me before (in past years -- probably bad diet) -- maybe no connection to
throat. I have rare periodic recurrances of genital herpes (not lately).
I used to eat sushi and raw eggs -- maybe a parasite?
In Boericke, throat swelling and throat swollen sensation of have LOTS
of rems.
Anyway, thanks for any ideas.
