Problem pregnancy

This patient is now 24 weeks pregnant, has got over the sickness that I didn't manage to cure and she is still back to me for more homeopathy, now for an overwhelming depression. I do have permission to post.

Short history of the case - she came to me in Nov 04 with a PC of depression and wanting to conceive. Sepia 200 did the trick and by the time she was a few weeks pregnant in Jan 05 she was off the allopathic anti depressants. She then had all the sickness for which Sepia, Cocculus, Colch, Ipec and finally in desperation Symphoricarpus was tried with no avail. She was so bad she was hospitalised twice. In April after the constant sickness lifted she started with slight depression and Sepia 200 did the trick for a month until she got a tooth problem which resolved in the tooth being removed in and a dry socket formed which Bell sorted out. Next (in May) the depression started again with the main problems being a fear of how the baby will fit into the household and will she get post natal depression like she did with the last which was the reason for the anti depressants she was on. She has Hay fever for which Sabad 30 pn is working but the depression is getting worse and she is now continually weeping. Sepia in 200, going up to 1M has done nothing , nor has Puls 20O. I have now sent her Cimic 200 and also Mag Carb (specific for weeping in pregnancy ) in case the Cimic does nothing. Her Sx are as follows-

Metallic taste in mouth
Weeping and when she is not she feels "down" It is not necessarily about the issues above now but just generally.
Desires sweet fizzy drink (Not diet ones!!) Choc, salads and veg
Feels like being on her own and even escaping the household

If anyone has any other suggestions as to Rx I would appreciate it. I wondered if the Sabad could cause the depression but it doesn't appear to have her Sx.

Regards
Rochelle

Hi Rochelle,

I can't take time to check this idea before offering it (sob),
but--Jeremy Sherr remarked that some very high percentage of cases
where sepia is prescribed, actually need (the remedy) Chocolate. Do
you have info on that, does it seem a possibility?

Dear Shannon,
Chocolate was a remedy I have been toying with because it has the wanting to escape idea. I have a lot of info on this Rx and have a patient whose depression has been definitely helped by it . I actually spoke about Chocolate to the patient yesterday. The fact that you picked up on it is encouraging. Incidentally I have found it works well on Nat Mur type cases. Chocolate has dreams of babies in it.

In my own case Sabadilla 30c, which worked beautifully to control
allergic sneezing and coryza, "brought on" a most hateful depression
which only abated upon quitting the Sabadilla. So yes, I DO think
Sabadilla could possibly be the culprit in your patient's case.
Sincerely,
Grace McKay
