CEEDS

Dear Simon / Nader / Ardavan and other colleagues
I have been pondering over this issue in view of the various definitions of
miasms that are around, I think Peter Chappell's CEEDs is easier to
understand and more clear cut. Our NBWS Flu is a classic example of this.
By this concept, any 'epidemic' or contagious disease agent can result in a
chronic effect. No only this, but also it can be passed on to the next
generations.
In fact even events such as shock and grief can profoundly affect the person
their off-spring because of the way they are mentally and emotionally
affected will certainly pass on to the next generation. So the role of
micro organisms is not necessarily the cause of diseases that are passed on
from one generation to the other.

On Aconite - I agree with Ardavan - there are many cases where a trauma can
have lasting effects for many years only to be resolved by Aconite.
Patients with Birth Trauma often need Aconite.
I do not think you can restrict any remedy to ACUTE ONLY. Each has its
function in the spectrum of similarity. If the picture fits, use it.
We often think of Bell as an acute remedy - but it has profound chronic use
and also look at the reports from Dr Sehgal where he predominately used
Bell.
Same with Arnica. An impact may cause chronic problems.
I recall a case of a girl of about 9 being treated by Marion Howie (She was
my first teacher of Homoeopathy and may God give her much blessings).
The girl had suffered from headaches for some years.
Under questioning she revealed that a boy running in her school play ground
had accidentally bumped in to her head and his head had impacted on the
sight of her face - in fact where most of the face had been. This was a
surprise to the patient's mum because she had not noticed any sign of
impact.
The morning after Arn 30, the mum had rang to say a huge bruise had
developed.
The headaches disappeared.

By the way - whilst discussing Peter Chappell and his CEEDs, I must report
that my young lady patient on PC ME has been a headache free too.
On a scale 1-10 with 1 being her state when we started the experiment with
PC ME, she ranked herself as being at 3.

You can not have this conclusion from what I wrote.
What you can say is that Mumps virus or Hepatitis A Virus are 'miasms' that
as far as we know result in acute conditions in our organism. But you cannot
prove that Mumps virus or Hepatitis A Virus always cause acute conditions
because of the 'acute-inducing' nature of the 'agent'. If the power of
adaptibility of the organism changes, acute or chronic conditions may be
induced by one specific agent.
"On the other hand do you believe that this is true in Remedies, too?
Namely, for example, Aconite, can cure chronic diseases?"
Why not??? I have had cases with increased nervous excitability following a
frightful event (years after the initial mental trauma) with recurrent
panic-like flare-ups cured only with Aconitum. What do you name this
condition? chronic or acute??
I do not believe in a clear-cut 'qualitative' definition of 'acute' and
'chronic'.
