Dear All,
I phoned the patient today planning to discuss the Causticum with him and he told me he had been to see the neurologist today who was shocked at the way he had deteriorated on the Ropinerol and said that the drug had made him worse and he was to come off it immediately!! I didn't post the full case but suffice to say that this man was working full time and driving until December when he was put on the drug. She the consultant) also thinks it has caused the rhinitis and sinus pain as he told her that the pain comes on after he has taken the drug and also upset his stomach . She says she is going to report his reactions to the drug manufacturers. In 10 days times she is going to put him on Domperidone (Remember that one? It was given to the 10 week old reflux baby!!)which she says acts like a disinfectant to get the drug out of his system. Next she will put him on Levodopa!!! Naturally he needs time to take this all in as obviously he is very upset. I said when he is clear of the drug he has been taking it is a good time to consider if he would like to try just homeopathy but of cause it is up to him to decide. I suggested that taking the Magnesium Phosphate Tissue salts which he has not yet started on may be a good idea anyhow. I feel I have done my job in pointing out to him that since the Ropineral was not making him better he should consider whether he should be taken off it and this he has done. Any more contact with me to consider homeopathic treatment is obviously over to him when he has got the drug out of his system.
