Locusts / Diabetes - off topic

Dear Simon

In places like Saudi Arabia and Algeria people do eat locusts.
So believe that it is good for diabetes. I am yet to see any published
studies.

However, when there is a locust attack, they are sprayed with poisonous
stuff, so it will not be healthy to eat them.

Slightly off topic but has anyone else heard of eating locusts as a
cure for diabetes?

I asked because friends in Algeria told me that when locusts were eaten
diabetes Px got cured
Very anecdotal but everything's worth investigating IMO
I can believe they are sprayed in Saudi but question whether they would
have got it together in Algeria, at least when I was there ( quite some
time ago now) it seemed unlikely
