OK. A bit of background.
My dear friend, Fran Treuherz, in London, found some interesting
items on e-bay. He bought two and sent one to me. It was a badge that
was marked "City of Philadelphia" and also "Hahnemann Colonel."
It seems that from about 1960 to the mid 1980s, Hahnemann Hospital in
Philadelphia had a security staff that was trained by the
Philadelphia Police Department. They looked like Philly cops, and
wore badges that were almost identical to the Police. All the badges
were marked "Hahnemann" above and had the rank and number below.
There were about 40 "Guard" badges. The whole system was set up like
the police-- the 40 guards who patrolled reported to two or three
Lieutenants who reported to two Sergeants. The man on top was, of
course, the Captain. It turns out that the Colonel was the officer
who sat at the desk and answered enquiries-- how appropriate!
Fran subsequently sent me a picture of him wearing his badge. So I
took a pic of me wearing mine.

It was this pic I showed to the NZCH Conference last year, with a
joking caution that I am NOT to be screwed with, and it is this pic
Joe thought of when he mentioned a SWAT team.

The book I am holding is "The Defense of the Organon". It was
published by B&T in 1896. Supposedly written by Friedrich Hahnemann
in 1811 in response to a series of attacks on homeopathy by the
allopath Heckler, it was obviously the work of the father and not the
son. It was translated by Dudgeon.
The other two items are from my extensive collection and, yes, they do work.
