Hi everyone,
I need help finding remedies which help to absorb blood clot after
stroke. The stroke happened six months ago and patient has partially
recovered.
I have come accross references to Arnica and Kali-mur for clot
absorption. Do any of you have experience treating patients like this?
If we use Arnica and Kali-mur what dosage and potencies should be
used in such a case.
Any help would be appreciated.

Dear Roma,
It completely depends on the present state of the
patient. In the first days after the stroke, usually
the patients pass different acute states and gradually
the patient enters a chronic state which is usually
difficult to treat. Many possible choices exist.
No remedy can absorb the clots directly by homeopathic
effect. Remedies can just touch the present state of
disease. So consider the totality of symptoms and
choose your remedies from a large number of possible
remedies!

Ardavan

Hi Shannon and Dr. Ardavan,
Thanks for your response.
The patient is a 82y old man who had the stroke six months ago.
During his illness he had a strong fear of falling. Even when someone
helped him to turn in his bed he would exclaim, "I will fall! I will
fall! He would try to hold on to the bed clothes. At that time he did
not recognize his relatives. I thought of giving him Conium at that
time because of the fear of falling in bed. I never gave it to him.
Now his mental faculties are back other than the complete loss of
memory of his illness. His fear of falling from loss of balance is
still there but the intensity is reduced. When I asked him about his
fear of falling he said "I have fallen so many times in my life".
Problem with weakened left side. He drags his left foot while
walking. He can walk very slowly with support. He has pain in his
left shoulder joint. Mood is ok.
He is shy and very sensitive to insults. He is conservative, focussed
on his family and very concerned about his image in society. He is
conscientious about his duty and has helped a lot of relatives
financially. He can be sarcastic at times. He was very conscientious
about his work and never missed work even when sick. The same
attitude prevailed in his voluntary work. He remembers past insults
and does not forgive. He likes company. When upset he grows quiet and
later may tell his wife why he is upset. He is chilly and loves
sweets.
Thanks for your help again.

Physiologically, there may well be permanent damage by now to the occluded part of the brain. He's compensated well, basically, but it would make sense at this point to take his constitutional case and give a constitutional remedy designed to minimize the risk of another stroke. You need to know something about the kind of stroke it was (ischemic or hemorrhagic) and what was the probable cause, which will give you an idea of the disease process involved (e.g., heart arrhythmia, occluded arteries, excessive tendency to internal bleeding.....), as well as how the stroke changed him and the modalities, concomitants, etc.. of his present state. Good luck. Rosemary

Dear Roma,
Think about Stramonium or Gelsemium for the possible
remedies to begin the treatment with.

Ardavan
