Just had a 21yr old in today . She has glandular fever (mono) for the last 10 days and was taken to hospital a week ago because of respiratory problems. She came out of hospital yesterday after being pumped intravenously with antibiotics because they thought she had pneumonia. Now has anyone heard of pneumonia with no cough as I haven't?

The symptoms she has now are Fever in the evening, hot , she wants to get everything off and get cool, drinking water only because she thinks she should during the fever, wants to be left alone, looks and feels hot and sweaty, with a hot sweat. Mum gives her paracetamol so I don't know how long it would go on without it.

I would really love to know what any of you would have given. The remedies which I felt were best were chilly Rx.

What time in the evening, does it last all night, only in the evening? What
> this fever? Why does she want to be left alone, how does she react
to being cared for? Is she hot all over, does she sweat all over, is there
an odour to the sweat?

Personally, I would say that if you have breathing problems then this being
<< when eating, is not a SRP.

Is there any tenderness in the liver region, or yellowness elsewhere (this
could be linked to the paracetamol).

You are also dealing with leftover sx, i.e. Those that have been altered by
the a/b, not easy to match but more info would be welcomed.

Saw the girl today. She looked like a completely different person with white sclerotics and the picture of health. She had driven herself to me from University as she was so well after a week that she went back. No respiratory problems. The 2 days following the Sulphur 30 (4 doses) I prescribed + the 1 Belladonna she took for fever on the night I saw her, she went for a walk on the beach with her boyfriend. I advised her to continue taking the Carduus M Herbal tincture for another few weeks.
