Cat bites/scratches get very inflamed, very fast. It would be pretty early
to assume an infection has set in. We see cat bite abscesses regularly, and
they seldom develop in a short period of time. Once the swelling has maxed
out, we will often get them to hot and cold pack (to move fluid, and make the
microbes uncomfortable LOL) For open wounds, if the owners wish to try
"alternatives" we may pack in raw honey.
