Whilst on the subject of LSD..

Post by Simon King LCPH MARH »

The proving on Misha's site

is well comprehensive and interesting, but there are a few points
regarding LSD and its potentials a homeopathic remedy that I'd like
some discussion on

The first , just to get it off my chest is the inclusion of the myth
that there is the possibility that it might cause chromasome damage.
This, as far as I'm aware was totally unfounded propaganda promulgated
by the authorities to try and scare people off taking LSD
I question whether it should be reported as if fact; it's inclusion
therefore also makes me question the authenticity of other
pharmacologically attributed effects, other than those I have
personally seen in users, or had reported, or experienced myself.

The next point is the different qualities of LSD, (probably effecting
experience).
The were many preparations of LSD25 from: 'pure' Sandoz, to 'California
sunshine', 'strawberry fields', 'windowpane', 'blue microdot', 'black
microdot'. I have tried them all and can attest to the quality of the
LSD preparation making a difference to the experience.
The proving only uses one preparation ( a quite pure one by the looks
of it, so is probably limited slightly in its indications potentially
when compared to other LSD preparations used recreationally.
The less pure preparations seemed to produce more physical ill effects,
and consequently a higher degree of mental discomfort. It had been
mentioned that strychnine might be used in the manufacturing process -
I have no idea if this was true but it would explain a lot if it was.
So one preparation produced a higher reported incidence of good or bad
trip e.g. a batch of pink microdot (as I recall) produced a high
number of the 'horrors' , whereas Californian sunshine produced a high
number of good trips

The next point is the different experiences irrespective of the quality
of the LSD. Irrespective of the quality of the preparations, even with
the few exceptions as above , the experience could not be predicted to
be predominantly good or bad. The only factors that may have helped
were not tripping whilst very short of sleep, hungry, hungover, etc.
The mood prior to the trip did not necessarily have any bearing on the
trip quality.

The next point is the homeopathic indications need sifting to be
readily recognised and applicable in therapeutic practice, e.g. how
often is Stram; Hyos, Agar; given in chronic cases on indications of
its full blown toxicological Sx. It would be interesting to extract
themes relevant to Px not otherwise suffering the more extreme or
unusual Sx of the drug or its proving but to understand the more subtle
and mundane indications.
This final point I would like to have discussed in detail
kind regards
Simon King
