sugar allergy

Post by Willy »

For my study I have to solve a kind of case in which a child has an
allergy for sugar.
Child 5 years old is perfectly healthy, but every time she consumes
sugar, she gets eruptions on the skin and swells.
This is eg bij drinking lemonade, candies, this kind of stuff.
Use of sweets (like those little pills you can put in your coffee or
tea), does not give this problems.

I cannot find any skinproblems from sugar.

Anyone knows?

Best regards, Willy

You might consider that the problems may be caused by the chemicals (colors, flavors, agents to keep it from caking, etc.) associated with sweets rather than the sugar itself. Does this reaction occur when using honey, fruit, or any other natural source of sugar?

Just a thought.
