strange throat problem

Dear all,
Every few days or so, the inside back of my throat swells, develops red
and white blobs, gets veiny and yucky, all of which can be seen when I look.
The swelling feels like it rises to where my nose opens onto my throat, but
doesn't seem to go lower -- I don't have problems swallowing. I have lots of
throat phlem, need to clear my throat a lot (but mostly always have).
I also have liver-area problems and what is probaby IBS, though I never
have diarrhea, just bowels that change consistency and frequency. Ginger helps
the rumbling and gas.
I've wondered whether the throat thing is from raw eggs or raw fish
(sushi) -- some parasite. Also, I take natural antibiotics (grapefruit seed
extract, olive leaf extract) and they seem to help. What seems to aggravate is
chocolate and dairy, maybe sugar stuff, maybe other foods (can't tell which).
I also wonder if it could be an std.
Do you have any thoughts? Many thanks.
